So, who saw tonight's Daily Show?
I was there.
Why is this awesome?
Because y'know how sometimes Jon Stewart says things that everyone laughs and you think, "What the hell?" Well, it's usually because he's referring to something from the question/answer session before the taping.
Tonight, Stewart referred to something the guy I was with asked...twice. Let's go to the question.
"Yeah. You." ::points to Chris, sitting next to me::
"Hi!"
::laughter::
"So I have a question about your protoge and his show."
"Which is..."
"Mr. Colbert."
"Ok..."
"Why is the image in his opening an eagle and the sound is a hawk?"
::Pause:: "I say this as nice as possible, sir, but you need a hobby."
::Crowd laughter::
"So how exactly do you know this?"
"I'm from Canada."
"Oh. And you all have your own nature shows?"
::Laughter::
The opening, when the crowd applause died down, Chris screamed. No words, but enough to remind Jon that he was there. Cue Jon Stewart, coming out of the opening, laughing, saying, "Did you know that the Colbert show, that's not an eagle, it's a fuckin' hawk?"
Later in the show, a clip with a guy in a dog suit...Stewart makes a comment after the clip about "And then the dog opened his mouth, and it was the voice of a BADGER!" And then he pointed to Chris and said, "We have our ornithologist Johnny-boy over there..."
And that was my day...
