I've seen it comes out in poor quality at your frontpage. LJ does that sometimes when you put the picture via the upload window into the post. It will be better to use html code like this:
use: < than img than space than src than = than " than the url hxxp://pics.livejournal.com/bookwormrach/pic/00005cxd (use http instead of hxxp) and close the command with " and >
yep, looks better ;) I forgot there's probably an easier way if you're not familiar with html: after uploading your pictures to scrapbook click on the picture until you have it full sized and with the url in your browser window. Copy the url. Thank go to you posting window, click "add image" and paste the url. That should give you the same outcome. You can even easily resize your pictures that way.
