If you're like me and you love horror, go back a few decades and check out Books of Blood. Barker is an imaginitive writer with a certain flare AND the way plays mix and match with between the erotic and the gore makes his tory telling so impactful. Not too mention the lore of his world goes so deep as to interconnect his tales in ways that would make medieval nuns cry.
