2. Scene - Dousing Dungeons
Silence greeted Harry in the empty halls of the castle.
No one there. No one left alive.
The young man sighed softly a brush of warm breath over his lips into the stale air and made his way down into the damp dungeons.
For one ridiculous moment as he prowled the dark corridors he wished that some of his friends had survived. The moment passed - and Harry chuckled quietly. The sound echoed in the lonely hallway. No way in hell should they have lived. After all, had they not been so embarrassingly foolish, he would not have been forced to do the dirty deed and kill them, and they would still be alive.
Yet again he was abruptly brought out of his thoughts. This time by a crunching noise beneath his right boot. He stopped walking and frowned at the offending object. A fragile yellow and black hairpin. Little butterflies on daises. Shaking his head Harry started walking again leaving the crushed item behind.
At the dead end of a corridor the dark haired man nodded at the portrait of a blue eyes lady. She was one of the only paintings left in the castle. A tender smile and a quiet "Welcome back, my Lord." were here response to his meager greeting. He gave her the password, his voice devoid of emotion.
"For the dead travel fast" (A/N: Quote from "Dracula")
The lady played with a curl of her hair while her painting slid aside leaving a black gaping hole in front of her master.
Stepping into the deep shadows Harry sighed once more this time in contentment.
Home.
