day of fail

Dec 23, 2009 18:23

i was going to post about the series of crappy things that happened today.
Then thought that i would be better serves by not dwelling on them, taking a few deep gulps of wine, and going about my cooking.

But for those that are interested here is a few bullet points
* Computers are slow irritating things that need to be upgraded or thrown out the window
* code is a fickle mistress, a library that has nothing to do with the code im running should not have thrown such a spanner in the works
* our IT department should ask before changing data run times from live to once a day, not change it then wait for us to notice and have a hissy fit
* when i tell the pivot table to refresh i mean REFRESH NOW WITHOUT ANY BUGS GOD DAMN IT
* two hours flat out then 2 hours with nothing to do then two hours flat out is not a good sequence
* i should hide the next time im shutting down the computer and see someone walking my way
* i should say its not available rather then it can be available
* Contrary to early day computer fail i should trust my data not the arrogant bastard asking for the information
* planning leave during event season when i report on the events is pointless as leave will be canceled

actually, i think i managed to mention most of the irritating things about today without giving a timeline of my day, and without dwelling.

Thank you for reading, i feel better, i shall now finish my next glass of wine and get to that cooking.
