Sock knitting

So I'm posting about knitting instead of actually knitting, because my hands need the break. See how good I am?

Anyway, I might have mentioned that I found the sock pattern for the pair of socks I started knitting years ago. And I have since knitted a couple more stripes through the ribbed portion.

Well, it's clear that back then, I knitted a LOT tighter than I do now. So much so that it's obvious. Now it's ribbing, so it's not going to make much difference through that portion, but once I get to the foot, which is stockinette, it will definitely make a difference.

I was using size 2 needles and since I noticed the difference in the ribbing, I decided to measure my gauge on the stockinette portion.

And my gauge is a very surprising 8 and a half stitches per inch.

Those're some tight socks right there.

So anyway, you may be thinking, why don't I just go down to size 1 or 0 DPNs?

Because I just dug through my needle stash, and I don't have any. HAHA.

Anyway, perhaps I will put the sock on break for now. Because let's face it, money is something I don't have much of right now. And I doubt Michael's carries size 1 DPNs. Mrar.
