Tina Fey hates strip clubs?

OK, so...I came across a link to a Vanity Fair interview with Tina Fey.

I want to preface this by saying I love Tina Fey. I love her work, I love that she's becoming a hugely powerful major Hollywood player, I love that she has a life and a child and a husband.

But I must admit, I was a bit disappointed to learn that she is a total prude.

Once a person becomes "bored" with strip clubs, porn, etc., again, talking predisposed here, they get bored with the small stuff, move it up a level, another level, etc. until they're in too deep (ie. exposing themself, molesting, cheating on their spouse, rape, murder, etc.).

I think there are precious few examples of this, proportional to the prevalence of the industry. I know of many individuals who have watched porn all their lives and haven't gone on to rape and murder people. Yet we think nothing of the money made and the psychological damage from movies like Saw 3, and nobody is pointing a finger at those. THAT'S psychological damage. Desensitization to violence is about a hundred times worse than watching consenting adults have sex.

Some parents end up as child molesters, so does that mean we should stop people from being parents?

There are messed up people the world over, and I don't think strip clubs nor porn make people do anything they weren't going to do anyway. Try blaming the person for choosing their own actions. Acting like "the devil made me do it" kind of lets them off the hook, don't you think?

I'll preface this by saying that I'm not talking about crazy torture porn or the wide variety of what I would consider to be unhealthy depictions of sex. :)

The positives are enjoying a richer fantasy life. Many individuals and even some couples choose to enjoy fantasizing in this way -- whether it be through porn rentals, online downloads, subscriptions to magazines, or going to strip clubs.

Exposing themselves to different types of sexual material in a controlled and safe way is how many people choose to spice up their humdrum sex lives, or to think about experiencing something that they might not be able to experience otherwise. In some cases, men and women use it to fulfill a need that their spouse may be unable or unwilling to fulfill. Certainly I know of men or women who are sexually disabled, and so their spouse or SO fills their needs another way -- with these types of materials in some cases.

Well, if you think of it that way, you're pretty much limited to Sesame Street. There's plenty of movies dealing with adult issues and subjects that don't deal with sex. :)

And no worries. It was interesting to have a real discussion with a real person! Gasp! It's almost as if we were adults! ;)
