BEFORE immerses it underwater :
- check all the parts can be open and close are sealed tightly
- ensure there is no dust inbetween the lens body *unmount the lens to double check*
- once you’ve done the steps , you can immerse it into the lakes, pool and sea
AFTER immerses it underwater :
- rinse AW1 with room temperature water. *you can use tap water*
- wipe it off with fibre towel .
- if there’s still some residue, let it dry by itself. *don’t be silly, drying AW1 on direct sun, you’re digging your own grave haha*
- once it dry completely, starts to unmount the lens
- first of all, wipe the groove in which the O-ring sits . make sure there’s no foreign objects while you wiping it, otherwise it will damage the O-ring
- next, take out the O-ring *the one makes the camera waterproof*
- do not use your fingertips, it will damage the O-ring structure. *please follow how to unmount it as stated in the picture below*
- once you’ve done the step, put the silicone grease in plastic bag and then put the O-ring inside.
- glides the O-ring until the grease covered it completely.
- put back the O-ring on AW1’s body camera
- next, wipe the collar of the lens, remove all the foreign objects that stuck inbetween the lens. eg: sand, dust, salty water, hair
- re-mount the lens and you are good to go.
