Things I found out today:
MATCHA
* drinking matcha (powedered green tea) can actually help reduce mental stress and cholesterol when consumed regularly.
* matcha has more antioxidants than coffee, has less calories, plus green tea provides more energy than coffee.
* even though coffee tastes really good..............milk tea is better!
* IDEAL FOR SCHOOL AND DIETING!
GOGUMA/KAMOTE (SWEET POTATO)
* instead of eating sugary sweets, try eating
goguma mat-tahng! I haven't actually tried it yet, but it looks tasty! Plus I have a thing for sweet potatoes right now...
RED BEAN
* good substitute for meat, as they contain a lot of protein, have less fat and are cholesterol-free
* plus they're really tasty. :D
* TRY THE TARO or MATCHA RED BEAN MILK TEA in CHATIME ^^
CALORIE COUNT
* one Krispy Kreme donut has 217 calories. And that's just the original glazed. Basically the same as a box of Pocky sticks (200cal). So go for Peppero stickes instead. They only have 170cal. Heh.
* there are good calories and bad calories. The bad ones are the "Calories from fat" part in the Nutrition Facts on the packaging. If it's about 1/4 to 1/2 of the calorie content, don't eat it. Or eat less of it.
EXERCISE
* if you aren't sweating, shaking, going numb on the legs, or feeling like your insides are burning, you aren't burning calories. (Trust me.)
* for tighter, less jiggly arms, don't weightlift or do too many push-ups. You want to lessen the fat on your triceps, not the biceps, because building the biceps would just give you a lot of muscle along with fat, not slender arms, which I'm sure looks scary if you're a girl. Do kickbacks, or tricep pushups instead, shown
here.
* take the long way. Instead of taking jeepneys, taxis, or any other form of transportation, if you can walk it (and if your schedule can take it) walk it. Don't be lazy. Just bring an umbrella, wear a lot of sunblock or bring an extra shirt.
* walk with your stomach in, no sound, shoulders squared (but not too much), and neck extended. Holding your stomach in would cause tension in your abdominal muscles, like when you're planking (the right way, mind you.) Walking without a sound is kind of like resistance training, since you'll be forced to tense your leg/thigh muscles a bit. Squaring your shoulders and extending your neck could help you correct your posture (which is important in any kind of exercise) and maybe lose some fat around your shoulders and collarbones.
Maa! That's all for today. :)
