Life is good, life is "interesting"
The duct tape body double that Isolde was going to help me make on Thursday we wound up doing last night, someone else needed her on Thursday and I really didn't feel up to heading out anyway. Now I just have to stuff it and make a stand and I can fit myself anytime. :) YAY!! It was very cool getting to chat with her too, and I'm so excited about New Years now, I can't wait.
Finally saw Fiacha again after his work trip to TX, and they've offered him a job and raise, if he'll relocate. He's given them a counter offer and let me know I may be getting two months notice - I've realized he's been my longest running tenant/ roommate, but this also is very fortuitous timing. I'm hoping that both bathrooms will be up and running in the next month, and the rest of the improvements at most a month after that. This will give me the option of renting the entire house as a whole, instead of dealing with renting individual rooms which in the past has been a total nightmare.
I hereby promise myself that I when renting my house I will:
Do background checks, if they've had multiple evictions they're probably NOT reliable and not worth the headache
Require first, last and damage deposit. May allow pets, but there will be a separate deposit and damage arrangement for them.
Sign and require the tenants to sign a rental agreement
Have in place a late payment penalty and stick to it, no more letting flakes slide.
I see many trips to the dump/ charity in my future. :)
Barry the construction guy is coming by tomorrow at 7:00 pm to give me more estimates on the kitchen, finishing the bathrooms, and finally getting a french drain put in. Lavenderldy, let me know if you want to come over and be "supportive", he's a hottie.
12th night plans are coming along, if a bit more slowly than I'd like. I've got the bodice fit & cut out in the outer fabric, and horsehair interfacing, but not the lining fabric yet. I've got to decide if I want to steal some of the lining fabric from the skirt and use it for the sleeves or bodice, or just find a different fabric that will work (I'm thinking black linen). I can't find where the heck my shoe bottoms went. I thought perhaps I had left them at Dragon's Lair Yule, but I haven't heard anything to that effect, so I have no idea at this point. I hate it when I get ahead of myself and misplace things. Feh.
All of my apprentice siblings are pretty cool, but I'm really excited about something that Annika's working on for me for 12th night. Not telling yet, but I can't wait to see it, she's so insanely talented.
Tonight, is Staxxy night! We're going to go hang out and possibly go pick up project supplies, I was hoping to make it back to Zenith sometime, but unfortunately they're only open until 6, so we'll check out the options at Michael's.

Also must remember that this Friday is my division's holiday party so I'm probably going to drive in for once, and I've also got to help out for a meeting so I'll be here late on Thursday-(poop, and I have to call Barry back and tell him 7:30 might be better).
