(no subject)
I'm supposed to be making a crown for the tragedy performances tomorrow, but that can be delayed a few minutes because there's something that really ticked me off today.
You know me, I'm modest when it comes to my art, and this is not me appalled at the lack of appreciation I supposedly think I deserve for my creations, but rather, my public announcement regarding stupidity. Here's what I mean:
The following is the critique of my poster design from Sprachfest:
I honestly don't give a crap what they thought about the appearance or design of the poster, but what really pisses me off is that I got FIVE POINTS TAKEN OFF for something so ridiculous as 'incorrect German'. The poem was from freakin' Goethe! The guy in charge read this poem out loud during the awards ceremony, there is no way it was incorrect German!
If that's not bad enough, get this:

Again, I don't give a darn in the world if they themselves would buy the shirt at the store if they could, but honestly, what the hell? How is the design NOT CLEVER? How does it NOT RELATE TO GERMAN? And for pete's sakes, I worked really hard to find an actual German word to use rather than just making one up to fit the theme, and they give me EIGHT POINTS for language.
So here are my conclusions:
The judges were (choose all that apply):
1) blind
2) illiterate in German
3) got confused and graded the wrong shirt
4) forgot to check out the back of the shirt
5) have no sense of humor or sense of art
6) have a bad sense of fashion
Boy, am I annoyed. They can't comprehend the amount of effort put into these types of entries...
