Instead of studying for my Chemistry exam on Thursday, I am playing around online. Meh. To be honest, I'll study Wednesday probably. While my costuming motivation is coming back, my school motivation is basically gone. Oh well.
I have to drive out to Milwaukee this afternoon to give a 20 minute presentation on my thesis. Which I have already passed. Seems like a waste of time to drive 3-4 hours round trip to do this. Especially since I have my last Chem lab at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow.
It's gorgeous out. But I feel like I'm still half asleep. Maybe it's residual crud from whatever I had last week. I woke up sick to my stomach on Wednesday, and couldn't eat anything until Thursday night. Even now, I can only eat a little bit each day, or I start getting sick to my stomach. No idea what is causing this. And no, I'm not pregnant.
Pretty Costume of Doom from Cirque du Soleil (aka The Archer's Daughter)
Leotard - 100% (hallelujah~!)
Leotard overskirt - 100%
Feathers - 60% dyed, mostly sewn on black strips - need to be attached to leotard
Leggings - 40% - need to be painted and attached to ballet shoe
Shoes - 95% - dyed, still wiping excess off
Armband - 40% - need to be painted
Fingerless glove- ugh, I'm not sure. I think I am going to try again with lycra.
Wig -90% - needs a good spray-down. Don't trust a man to buy the correct hair product, no matter how specific your instructions
Extra info: I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Korean hanbok
Skirt - 25%
Top -0%
Extra info: Yea, unless I get crazy in gear, I don't think this will get done.
And just because I'm feeling particularly sadistic, I'm going to make a nice list of costumes I want/plan to do in the future.
Planning (aka I have pieces for this but that doesn't mean it will get done)
Helba - I'd love to get her done for CONvergence. She is sort of a bad guy/good guy. But can I build her costume in 6 weeks? Maybe. Can I get a flat enough stomach to pull this off in 6 weeks? Derp, doubtful. I love food too much.
Subaru - I have the fabric for this. I love it. It is perfect. But I cannot make this until my stomach is smaller. Sigh. Why do I pick costumes that show skin?
Possibilities (aka I will likely do these, but who knows when)
Lightning - She's not a villain, but her costume may be doable in 6 weeks....so she might be my next costume. There is another female villain in FFXIII, but I'm unsure about her.
Sailor Iron Mouse - An idea that Sara and I were talking about for CONvergence. May or may not happen.
One of the outer senshi - Since I get to see a high school friend who is also a costumer at Otakon this summer, and she is a huge Sailor Moon fan, perhaps I will make something to walk around with her in.
Wishlist
Original costume - I have this idea bouncing around in my head about this original costume that would go along with a song I am currently obsessed wtih. It's totally not a finalized idea, but I am leaning towards something fear-based. Maybe the costume will be titled "fear"?
Kaguya-hime - Based off of a Japanese folk tale. But holy crap the amount of silk I will need. And time. And lord her hair....
Rosa or Rydia - So much beading...so pretty.... but sadly out of my current skill range...
Kei-o - A dream costume from Juuni Kokki. I've wanted to do this one for years. Who knows if it will happen.
Lulu - I was once told that I'd make a good Lulu. I toyed around with the idea and sort of fell in love with the costume.
Chinese Sword Dancers - Another Cirque costume I fell in love with. I must hate myself, lol.
(Oh by the way, this list will be completely different after Costume Con)
Dammit, there went my soda. I knew I was going to spill shit on myself today. Good thing I brought an extra shirt for my presentation. I keep spilling stuff. I think I need to stop having liquids near me.
