It's been a long time since I've posted. I wonder if anyone reads these anymore?

What to say? A lot has happened since January... I feel like an almost completely different person to be honest.

I took 19 units last semester. I learned a lot about my academic abilities and interests. I took two really decent-to-alright science classes with a professor who knew his stuff and lectured well... I do not like lab science. (The results are interesting though) I really like philosophy, which I knew from my first semester, only now I know I really mean it.

So no N.D. for Caleb, and no bougie-bucku-bucks job. Alas, I don't seem to be here on a money making mission anyhow. I do really like environmental sustainability conversations though, and I think my interests actually can come together into a sustainable lifestyle for me in the future.

Philosophy + Native Studies + Anthropology + Fitness/Health + PoliSci/Law = Making real ass fucking change in the world.

I read this amazing (short) book by Andrew Weston called How to Re-Imagine the World. It's a wonderfully hopeful guide on how to be not just a change maker but a solution builder. I can't explain the sublte shift in thinking it's lead me to, but if you read the book you'll understand it too.

Also another good book: The Matrix Warrior. I can't even begin to make sense of it in my own words. Look it up, read it. You'll like it. (Unless you don't like thinking... or the Matrix).

I joined AmeriCorps and I'll be leaving in August for Shelton, WA to do this program called Building Bridges. I'll be working with at-risk drop-out youth 'mentoring', tutoring and job shadowing them... I'm stoked!

I'm still with Marisa. Still in love. More uncertain about the future than ever, but definitely sure that it's real. That's the exciting part.

I really should write this essay.
