So I'm in sunny San Diego

...and southern california ia a strange fucking beast. I must say. The weather is quite nice, and I understand now why my grandparents wanted to retire here, very mild and pleasant. (Though if you ask me it's a little warm right now, summers would kill me here I'm sure.)

Let's see, I flew in on Monday morning, though it felt like Sunday night to me as I went to work and stayed up all day/night/morning to make my early flight, spent way too much on a cab and all of that. But in the end I made it, and I'm in Yve's bedroom right now, while she's at dance class.

We've mostly just cruised right around her house and hung out. Yesterday we went to Hillcrest (the gay area, but not as flashy) and went to The Living Room, this cool little coffeeshop. It somehow reminded me of Buffy (...yes, TVS). And we did some freewrites... I forgot how much I really enjoy those, need those. We walked around and shopped at this thrift store called Flashbacks, and I got a few cool cowboy shirts.

We saw Brokeback Mountain last night too. Such a good movie. Period. I hate watching movies like that though, 'cause they make me think that that kind of love, love despite everything else, actually exists.

That being said I'm still having a great time, and I'm excited for the rest of my stay down here, not that i don't miss Berkeley, becuase I do, a lot actually. I like being able to walk to everywhere that I could need to be, and... being home. Although this vacation has been very very very needed.
