BSG 3:11 The Eye of Jupiter

I was wrong. I was wrong about almost everything but how good this show is. Suddenly all those pieces that didn’t seem to fit anywhere just fall into place.

Sooner or later, the day comes when you can no longer hide from the things that you've done )

Remember in one of the first episodes or the mini series when Tigh gives an order to shut down part of the burning Galactica, which results in the death of 84 troops and the Chief bad mouths Tigh to Adama. And Adama shuts the Chief right down by telling him, Tigh made a difficult decision and he would have done the same.

At that point in the series, I didn't believe that to be true. I thought Adama was covering for Tigh. But after Heroes, you realize just how true it is; as well as the fact that the opposite is going on. Adama tells Tigh he has to learn how to make those decision in command - we learn afterwards that Adama has made such a difficult decision in Heroes, and in fact he is encouraging Tigh to make such hard decisions too, as is necessary in top command positions.

Anyway, I find this interesting because it fairly well reverses what I originally thought about the two characters early on - that Tigh was less careful than he might have been, etc.

Serendipitously I was just scanning through the mini-series having written that post and glanced upon that very scene. Yes, exactly.

1) In BSG the original series, Gaius ended up leading the Cylons.

1a) All of this has happened before and all of it will happen again.

2) This is not BSG the original series.

Interesting thoughts.

Interesting times. I never warched the original but they do seem to keep weaving in elements of it.
