So last night, one of the nerds happens to also be a guitar nerd and claimed to be king of the music mountain. He swaggered and said, "I'm sure we have some music in common. Who do you like?"
"Current recording artists would be The Walkmen and Deerhunter."
"I've never heard of those."
The jukebox plays "Gouge Away" by the Pixies. "Oo! This song! Have you heard this?"
"No," he says.Which infuriated the hell out of me. No posturing as king of music mountain if you don't even know the Pixies. Fuck you, man, fuck you.
