fall break
Currently I'm in Cairo, Egypt! It's amazing here and I can't even begin to describe it.
Thursday - Saturday morning we were in Venice, and the Saturday we went to Pisa and then Rome for the night. Then Sunday morning we snuck onto the train (without paying >_>;) and went to the airport to come to Cairo, and we got in about 2pm. We got a hired driver to take us into town and we booked our sleeper train to Aswan (about 8 hours south) for Monday night. Tomorrow we have a hired driver taking us around to the pyramids of Giza, the desert Saqqara, and the district Dashur for the day. SWEET.
The worker here at the hostel is super nice and gives us free drinks and likes to force cigarettes onto me, which I don't know what to do about lmao. Ummm.....that's about it. Well obviously not since I have SO MUCH TO SAY, but the internet here is a little slow and Aya and I still need to figure out what to do later this week. We're changing our itinerary because we're really last-minute like that. Originally we were going to go to the Bahariyya Oasis on Thursday, but then we changed to climbing Mt Sinai, but then we figured out that we are not super athletes and therefore will die after a few steps (there are 3700 steps, just about!), so now we're going to Hurghada which is by the Red Sea. I think we're doing a desert camel ride at night there, I'm not sure.
Okay, I'll try and check back tomorrow!
