Thinking about this survey...it feels like a lot happened this year. It was a really good one. 2010 kicked 2009's ass. :)
What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Dated. Like, "we only just met but let's go out and get to know each other"-type dates. Stood up for myself. Like, really stood up for myself.
Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I'm pretty sure I didn't make any actual resolutions last year. This year I'm not officially making any resolutions, but there are a lot of things I would like to accomplish - healthier lifestyle, move forward with bakery plans...attempt to move out? Basic stuff.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not this year! ::crosses fingers:: ::waggly eyebrows:: I hear Susan's taking pre-natal vitamins... XD
Did anyone close to you die?
No.
What countries did you visit?
I didn't really go anywhere this year other than various places in Virginia...Morgantown, Ocean City...South Carolina.
What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
Umm...sex?
What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Ahh...I had to look up the actual dates these things happened, hahaha, but:
-mid-February, Snowpocalypse 2010.
-April 27th, the day I told Chris I was attracted to him. It was kind of a big deal for me.
-May 22nd, Carmina Burana performance with the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra. Fifteen people showed up that night just to see me. Every friend and family member who could make it came. It made me realize just how blessed I am to have so many people in my life who love and support me like that. God knows why. ;`
-December 14th, Jammin' Java's first (and probably last, lol) annual Holiday Party. It was just...the most fun I'd had in a very, very long time.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I don't feel as though I've really achieved anything... I think I took some chances with things that have ultimately made me grow or learn or have helped me in some way, and maybe simply embracing the idea of doing something even if you're afraid of it, realizing that you have more to gain than you have to lose in those sorts of situations, has been my biggest achievement.
What was your biggest failure?
Oi... missing whatever opportunities I missed before my big aforementioned achievement. Though it's not a painful regret that I carry with me, it feels like part of me will always regret not taking a chance with Chris sooner.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope. I think I about maxed out there in 2009.
What was the best thing you bought?
Oh, I don't know...my Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers collection, maybe. <3
Whose behavior merited celebration?
Kevin, for taking charge, transferring to a better school, doing well, and overall shaping up. David, for fucking kicking ass, getting into his PhD program, getting a stipend, and really being able to start his life. Steph, for taking control of her life and making it what she wants.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My co-worker Brandon. It's just been a downward spiral of disappointment for him all year. He's been sort of the poster child for letting life happen to you, never trying to change the things that make you unhappy...
Where did most of your money go?
Music. Christmas. ^^; My car! Jeez.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The idea that Andrea and I might go into business together.
What song will always remind you of 2010?
"Ordinary" by The Alternate Routes
Compared to this time last year, are you...
-happier or sadder?
Happier.
-thinner or fatter?
Hahahah, ummm, about the same.
-richer or poorer?
Richer.
What do you wish you'd done more of?
Make out. lol. I wish I'd kept in touch more.
What do you wish you'd done less of?
Waiting. Putting things off. Doubting.
How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent Christmas Eve at home
eating seven fishes, watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and drinking rum nog (Meg Nog?) out of
moose glasses. Christmas Day we slept in, had a big breakfast, opened presents, and then had Christmas dinner at my Aunt Jeannie's house. I also sat around in my pajamas as much as humanly possible.
Did you fall in love in 2010?
A little bit. :`
How many one night stands?
Zero.
What was your favorite TV program?
I haven't really watched any new TV, except for my guilty pleasure Verbotene Liebe, this German soap opera that I watch subtitled on YouTube. ^^; The first half of the year, Supernatural still would have qualified, but this season's been such a disappointment so far that this is no longer true.
Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate anybody, but I've been really disappointed by my boss at JJ and the way he treats us, and this time last year I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.
