Another 28

I had this one pretty much finished, but the ending wasn't working out too well... I'm not sure about this ending, but it works.

Sis, before you try and tell me Sides should be more mad...I know, he should be mad, but at the same time we won't have many of these softer scenes with them. Plus this would most definately be "off-screen" so I have no worries about it being more touching. That and... well they could have a major argument when they get back to the base where someone could pull them apart... or at least place bets on who's going to win "this time".

Just a thought.

Dancing Wildfire

Wildfire stepped as quietly as she could through the corridors of the Autobot base on Earth. She didn’t want to wake anyone that wasn’t on the night shift, to do so would be disastrous. Bots tended to get cranky when they were woken up out of a good recharge, she herself was no exception.

Today, or tonight however you wanted to think of it, she wanted to do something she hadn’t been able to do since she left Nebulous. She was going to greet the sun. Not just greet the sun, but invite it out of it’s slumber, according to Nebulan religious traditions.

The Nebulan phoenix nodded to the sentries that guarded the entrance, then took flight into the pre-dawn blackness. She only stopped flying when she managed to get what she thought would be far enough away from the base that no one would see her. She knew Rodimus would hear about her little trip soon enough, but if the sentries were smart enough, they wouldn’t tell him until after their shift change. And by then she would be safely back at base.

She transformed as she neared the ground, landing lightly on the sand. And with the momentum she had from landing, she spun herself in a circle, opening her wings to stop her when she reached the proper direction.

Crossing her arms in front of her, she slowly started to extend her arm out and formed fireballs in her hands as they reached their furthest most point. She flared her wings out and up as she started to circle her hands in front of her like the humans did when they did that martial arts thing, Tai Chi.

She continued to dance on the sand, trying to coax the sun out over the horizon. She had forgotten how much she had loved to do this. The Nebulans had always loved to watch her invite a new day and had often played music for her to dance to. The music would never be the same, and neither would the dance, for each day was something new to cherish. And so to honor her Nebulan friends beliefs, she did something she hadn’t been able to do before.

She took flight.

Wildfire pushed off with her wings and spiraled up into the sky, relishing the feel of Earth’s air currents against her form. About a hundred feet up she stopped, keeping her wings extended to keep her aloft, she started to dance again. This time she turned wide circles, like she had seen human ballerinas do. Each foot ‘touched’ a point on the outside of an invisible circle, and she turned quickly in between each foot ‘fall’. Then as she reached the last she jumped, ‘landed’ on one foot and turned, bending low with the balls of fire still in her hands.

As the Sun started to peek over the horizon, Wildfire sent one of her fireballs up into the shattered clouds, watching as it quickly dissipated after it left her hand. She stood and started to turn again, waving the second ball of fire to the horizon, trying to bring the Sun further up into the sky.

The Sun soon became more present in the sky and Wildfire slowly drifted back down to the ground, releasing her second fireball as if to thank the Sun for lighting up the new day. A few slow turns more, then Wildfire figured she had better head back to base when a hand grabbed hers and pulled her into an embrace.

“Sideswipe?!” She squeaked out when she saw that it was her bond-mate holding her.

“Shhhh.”

“But...What?”

“Shhhh.”

“But-”

“Shhhh, you’ll ruin the mood.” Sideswipe said as he pulled Wildfire closer and started leading her in a dance around the sand.

They danced until the Sun was fully in the sky. Then as the Sun was smiling down on them, they returned to the war that controlled their lives.

So Thoughts? Ideas? Reviews?
