It’s just another day of tedium in the palace. It’s still winter, the tail end of freezing nights just before spring properly begins dragging on, and Koki is bored. Bored of the cold, bored of the misleading sunshine, bored of lessons, and bored of generally everything. He wishes there was something to do; anything, really.
The only thing that seems to be any sort of fun is the upcoming festival season. It will end with the celebration of the royal family, so that means he gets presents. That’s always nice; maybe this year one of his presents will be permission to go on some kind of adventure.
As it is, Koki’s resting his head on his crossed arms as he looks over the courtyard of the castle. He’s nearly asleep when he hears it. There’s a small shuffling sound behind him, quite unlike any of the usual noises he hears within the castle walls, and he startles. When he turns around, there’s a stranger behind him-- around his age, maybe younger. His robes are fine, if a little tousled, and his hair is mussed. Koki isn’t sure, but he thinks he can smell the faintest hint of wine.
The stranger’s voice is steady as he speaks, though. “You have until the end of the royal celebration to lose your innocence. If you fail, your life is forfeit.”
“Excuse me?” Koki asks, a little incredulous. “Is that a threat?” The stranger is silent, and Koki continues. He looks askance as he replies. "I am not innocent."
"Yes you are," the stranger says, "because of the way you can't meet my eyes. Now go on, get! You've got disaster to avert!"
Just as suddenly as he appeared, the stranger is gone. Koki’s not sure how he managed it, but the man must have just vanished. He’s a little jealous of that power, but he’s more concerned with the prophecy, or threat, or whatever that weird aphorism was meant to be than with magic tricks he’d never been able to learn.
Koki pulls his own robes tighter around himself and heads inside, down several tiring flights of steps. He pauses halfway down, bracing his hands against his knees. He could train with the guards, but Uepomu is always teasing. It doesn't help that he's got some kind of superhuman strength to begin with.
Finally he makes his way back to his rooms. Koki flops onto his bed, feet hanging off the edge as he mulls over what the stranger had told him. Sure, Koki had fooled around before; it was just imprudent to do... that with whoever, especially since he was next in line for the throne and his parents kept a strict watch over him.
He tosses and turns, wondering if maybe one of his friends could help him. Maybe Koki could ask Uepomu, but only if he never wanted to hear the end of it. Yucchi is too absorbed in his alchemical studies, and a little bit of a prude to boot; Koki would probably traumatize him. He’d gotten as far as pressing a kiss to Yucchi’s cheek once, and the other had flushed the deepest red and been unable to look at him for a week.
Koki spends the rest of the week surreptitiously sizing up anyone remotely interesting. He even peeks into Yucchi’s lab, hoping that maybe he’s gotten exposure to some sort of compound that makes him a little less skittish. Unfortunately, he hasn’t, and Koki slinks away after talking with him about last week’s lessons for a few minutes.
He wanders to the training grounds, and watches as Uepomu hollers at the newest guards-in-training. There are a few that look like they’d be kind of fun, but Koki refrains because it would only end badly; his parents would be upset, to say the least, and Uepomu would have even more ammunition to tease him with. Really, Koki thinks, Uepomu would probably be interested in helping him, except for the whole laughing about it forever part.
Time is running out, and Koki is beginning to get worried. The royal celebration will be over at midnight tomorrow, and if he doesn’t fulfill his obligation, will that stranger come back, and really kill him? It’s kind of unfair, and Koki is too busy frowning about it as he’s returning to his room to avoid running right into someone’s chest.
Koki nearly falls backward, but the arms connected to the chest he’s run into catch him. He looks up, stuttering an apology when he realizes that he’s never seen this person before. This stranger is considerably taller than him, well-dressed in robes not unlike his own.
“Hello,” the man says, still holding onto Koki. “Are you all right?”
Koki nods his response, too busy trying to think of the least awkward way to proposition this man.
“Good! Allow me to introduce myself, then. I’m Taguchi Junnosuke, and I’m visiting from the next kingdom over. Please, call me Junno, though.” He’s still touching Koki and smiling down at him, and Koki almost doesn’t hear his question. “What’s your name?”
“Koki,” he mumbles, still looking up at Junno. He’s beginning to feel a little embarrassed, what with being held in the middle of the halls. He casts about for a moment, and finally blurts out, “Would you come with me please?”
Junno looks a little confused, but he nods, and Koki untangles himself from his hold long enough to grab one of Junno’s hands and lead him in the direction he’d originally been going. Junno keeps talking, a steady stream of syllables that Koki barely catches. It fizzles out when Koki drags them through his bedroom door and locks it behind them.
“Are you... the prince?” Junno asks. He looks a little surprised.
“Yes?” Koki replies. He thought that had been obvious earlier. “Anyway, I know this is going to sound really weird and I feel embarrassed even asking, but earlier this week this wizard I’d never met before pretty much told me if I didn’t do it before the end of the royal celebrations that I’d die!”
Junno’s brow furrows. “Do what, exactly?”
“It!” Koki huffs and crosses his arms. He looks around, as if that wizard could be hiding somewhere in his room, and drops his voice to an urgent whisper. “I have to lose my innocence!”
Junno blinks at him for a moment, and then another, smile frozen on his face. Koki is ready to save the wizard all the trouble of coming back to finish him and jump from his window. Just as he’s taking a deep breath to cross to the window, one of Junno’s hands wraps around his wrist.
“I... think I could help you with that.” Junno’s eyes are dark as he pulls Koki closer. His fingers are nimble as they make short work of the fastenings of Koki’s robes, dropping them to the floor in a heap and leaving Koki standing in only his trousers and thin undershirt.
Koki recovers and assists, pulling his shirt over his head before reaching forward to disrobe Junno. They’re a tangle of limbs and clothes, but finally they’re both undressed; Koki guides Junno to his bed, pausing long enough for Junno to reverse their positions and push him to the mattress. Koki gasps and stretches to pull Junno down.
Their lips meet, and Koki forgets all of his earlier awkwardness as their tongues entwine. Koki could keep doing this, at least until Junno’s fingers catch on one of his nipples, pinching and twisting before dragging lower to stroke him. His own fingers drag down Junno’s back, and he knows he’s probably left angry red welts in their wake; Junno doesn’t seem to mind, though. He’s far too busy sucking along one of Koki’s collarbones.
With a wet noise, Junno withdraws from the side of Koki’s neck, dragging a whine from him. “You don’t happen to have anything, do you?”
It takes Koki a moment to understand words, but he lets go of Junno long enough to gesture toward his bedside table. There’s a bottle of oil in the drawer, and Junno snatches it before pressing a kiss along Koki’s jaw. Then he’s dragging his lips down the length of Koki’s body, nuzzling against his belly and pulling away to lick a stripe up the underside of Koki’s cock.
That’s enough distraction for Koki to forget all about the oil, at least until Junno’s slick fingers slide along his crease before pushing inside him, but then Junno’s mouth is on him again. Koki fists one hand into Junno’s unruly hair, holding him in place as Koki presses the back of his other wrist against his mouth to muffle his noises.
Too soon, Junno pulls his fingers out and stops tormenting Koki with his tongue. He rolls to the side, grinning at Koki.
“Why’d you stop?” Koki gasps, unable to keep from pouting. The only response he gets is Junno tugging at his arm, and Koki sits up, watching as Junno slicks himself and beckons Koki to come closer.
“You’re good at riding, aren’t you?”
Koki is, though he keeps his comment to himself as he straddles Junno. Junno holds him steady as he leans back; Koki keeps a hand on Junno’s cock as he settles onto it. For a few breathless moments, Koki sits still, adjusting to the feeling of fullness. Junno waits patiently, his hands resting at Koki’s waist.
Koki raises up slowly, settling back down in a careful rhythm. He nods, and Junno begins to move his hips in counterpoint. They’re slow, halting at first, but soon enough Koki claws his nails down Junno’s front, prodding him to buck his hips up wildly.
He doesn’t know how long it lasts; Koki is far too busy keeping his balance and scratching his marks into Junno’s chest. He just knows that he’s full to the brim, and that he’s getting close. Junno seems to realize it as he grips Koki’s waist even harder, only letting go to urge Koki to wrap a hand around himself.
“Hurry,” Junno gasps, and Koki takes it to heart, stroking himself faster and harder than he usually likes. He stills in Junno’s lap as his breath catches; his vision goes blank as he’s overcome by his orgasm. Distantly, Koki knows that Junno is still going, still pressing into him even though he’s clamped down around him. He feels a warm pulse, and then Junno relaxes, pulling out as carefully as he can manage.
Koki feels sticky and a little gross, but he allows Junno to coax him to lie down next to him. He does, and he lets out a contented sigh. Both of them are quiet, at least until Koki’s nearly fallen asleep.
“That wizard... was he around our age, maybe? Because he might have told me something about meeting a young man while I was negotiating on my kingdom’s behalf. Except he didn’t say anything about lives being forfeit for me.”
Koki blinks his eyes open, staring into Junno’s. He thinks for a second that maybe they’ve been had, but it’s okay with him. Otherwise he would’ve had a boring week.
