Chapter 1 - The School Celebrities
Jin, Kazuya, Ryo and Ueda were all now in second year Junior High. All studying in St. John International Academy, the most prestigious school in Japan. Only the rich people can study there. The four of them belong to second year section A. All section A can be only composed of ten of the most outstanding students in each year. It means, being able to enter Section A was a very big deal to all students. Once you belong to Section A, you'll automatically have a vortex of popularity. Especially if you get along to the school celebrities, Akanishi Jin and Kamenashi Kazuya.
It was a sunny afternoon, tennis club members were having their afternoon practice in their outdoor tennis courts. But their vice-captains were still nowhere to be found.
"Sheesh, Jin's late" Ryo uttered.
"Nishikido!" their coach called, "Ueda!"
"Urg... now what?" Ueda thought and the two of them approached their coach, Ryuzaki Sumire.
"Where do you think Akanishi and Kamenashi are? They're ten minutes late"
"I don't know, I know they're assigned to clean the classroom." Ryo answered.
"They still should have reported before cleaning the classroom! They know how important their presence here in practice"
Then they saw Jin and Kazuya running fast towards the tennis field.
"This is all your fault Kamenashi! See?! We're so late!" Jin complained.
"What? Now it's my fault?! But I told you to mop the floor!" Kazuya countered back.
"WHAT!? And who are you to boss me around, ha?!"
"Stop complaining both of you!" coach Ryuzaki commanded.
"Hai!" the two responded.
"You know the punishment, how long you're late, that' the time you'll run around the field. Now, go!"
"Yes coach!"
Then the two started running around the tennis field still giving each other death glares.
" *sighs* Those two were so close when we were still young" Ryo uttered.
After ten minutes, their punishment was supposed to be finished. But seems like their punishment turned into a small competition. They're competing to who will have the better stamina and will last longer in running.
"Don't be such a loser Akanishi!" Kazuya sticked her tongue out.
"Blah! As if I'll let you beat me Kamenashi!"
It was already the second semester, but for an unknown reason, Jin and Kazuya seemed to have a cease fire. Jin became silent than usual. And Kazuya, staring at Jin trying to analyze why he was acting like that. She misses it whenever Jin's teasing her.
It's a cloudy day, but tennis practice is still on, the boy's captain, Tezuka Kunimitsu was absent for having a check up with his left arm, so Jin was left to watch the team while Tezuka is gone. The boy members thought that Jin was staring at nowhere, but the truth was, he's staring to Kazuya.
"She's always the most outstanding girl around. You'll always notice her even if she's with a thousand people. she's smart, she's pretty, she's good at everything and boys fall in line for her... I always watch her from a far, trying to realize if I already fell for her... did I already fell for her, if I already did, will destiny allow me?" he thought.
"Is he staring at me again?! What is he thinking? Is he thinking some kind of pranks for me? What?! I'm getting confused! I wanna know what he's thinking... I knew him since we were toddlers, but... I never really had the chance to know who he really is..." Kazuya thought.
Third year started. Jin and Kazuya became the captain of their own teams. Since then, Jin started to be kinder towards Kazuya, though it's not really that obvious since he's still teasing her, but the teases became more gentle and he looks at her in a different way. Ryo doesn't even know what his best friend is thinking. So he decided to talk to Jin about it.
"Jin, do you love her?"
Silence.
"Fuck Jin, answer me!"
"I don't know Ryo! I don't know!" Jin finally snapped out and pushed Ryo away from him.
"I just don't want you get hurt Jin"
"Before you worry about me, why don't you worry about yourself on how you can get close with Tatsuya first!" then Jin left Ryo.
Jin was walking around the school garden and he saw a bed of white flowers. It suddenly made him remember his sweet past with Kazuya, slowly, a smile came out of his lips.
"Kyaaa~~~ Look! It's Akanishi-sama!!!!" girls at the garden screamed. Since he's a school celebrity, Jin was used to all the kyaa-ing he was always hearing everywhere he go and got used to expressing fake smiles to them.
"Jin, can we talk?" it was Ueda who asked him that question.
"Tat...suya? Sure..."
"Let's go somewhere else, it's pretty noisy here"
The two of them went to the school's west garden.
"So, what's this you want to talk about?"
"Jin, we've been classmates since kinder or something, and... we've never really had he chance to get to know each other, but... Jin, I've been observing you for a while"
"And?"
"Jin, I know your family's rivalry between Kazuya's... but I see that you're starting to develop feelings for her"
"WHAT!? Feelings? For her?! No way!"
"What you're saying is different from what I can see through your actions... before, you don't even help her pick up her books everytime you bump into her, but now... you even open doors for her"
"I... I just got matured you know..." Jin blushed, "by the way Tatsuya, is there a chance that... she would like me?"
Ueda chuckled, "You are actually a nice person Jin, don't worry about it."
Then Ueda left. After a month, their Carpentry teacher gave them a project to build a miniature house and assigned them a partner.
"Of all people why do I have to be partners with you Akanishi?!" Kazuya complained.
Silence, there was no response from Jin.
"Hey, you okay?" Kazuya asked, "Are you sick? Cause you know, you should be saying 'Well, I don't wanna be partners with you either' something like that"
"I'm fine, I'm not just in the mood to have a fight with you" Jin answered, "By the way, let's buy some materials later"
"Uh... yeah, sure"
"Ne, Tatsuya-chan, what kind of house do you like?" Ryo excitedly asked, he really likes to be partners with Ueda since forever.
"I just want a simple house that a normal family would live in," Ueda answered with a smile, "Ryo-chan, have you noticed that something's different with Jin?"
"Yeah... I don't know if his eyes turned sad or... he's just thinking about something deep"
After their school has finished, Jin and Kazuya decided to walk to the hardware where they can buy what they needed for the project.
"What are you thinking Akanishi?" Kazuya was thinking really hard that she didn't notice a car was running fast towards her.
"Kamenashi!" Jin shouted and pulled Kazuya in his arms,"Watch where you're driving you bastard!" Jin shouted to the driver and turned his gaze to the trembling Kazuya, "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"
"No... I'm perfectly fine... thanks... Akanishi" she looked at Jin's eyes with a sweet smile.
"That's good then"
