JUST BECAUSE WE'RE AUTHORS AND READERS
Honestly, I'm quite upset right now..
I feel really insulted as an author myself and at the same time as a reader.
My fellow authors and readers are quite upset as well and some of them are really mad.
I'm very very very very very disappointed, somehow I am, as a fangirl.
A fellow fangirl asked me for help coz she wanted to write her very first smut fanfic.
Of course as a senpai in the writing realm, I gladly accepted it and helped her.
We worked for it for days and i suggested her to add some stuffs in her fic.
It turned out really well. She wrote it beautifully and I dont even have to give her much advice
I really liked the fic she wrote.
But suddenly this fellow fangirl appeared and started bashing her fanfic.
I won't tell her name for the sake of respecting her privacy.
But some of my fellow fangirls know who she is for they were directly involved in this.
It's in Tagalog, so for the sake of those who can't understand Tagalog I would gladly translate it for you.
"Iwii! Yuckness! Ang kapal! Alam niyo ba yung salitang respeto? Grabe kayo! Kababaeng tao tapos ganyan mag-isip. Andumi! Kahit pa sabihin niyo na fanfic yan, grabe! Hindi to nakakatuwa! Nagwowork sila ng marangal tapos sa isang banda wala silang kamalay-malay na ganyan sila gawan ng story! Aware ba kayo sa ginagawa nyo? O nalalason kayo ng maduming isipan nyo."
Translation:
"Eew! Yuckness! You sure have guts! Do you guys even know the word respect? You guys are extreme! You are girls and you think like that. So dirty! Even if you say it's just a fanfic, gosh! This isn't funny at all! They're working decently then in a part they're not even aware that stories are written for them this way! Are you aware of what you're doing? Or you've been poisoned by your dirty minds."
Personally, as an author this is very insulting. I write a lot of smut fics, and I love writing smut fics especially those requested by my readers and friends. I always gladly accept what they request me to write and I work my ass out to write those masterpieces.
I write them to please my readers and not someone like her. A self-proclaimed FANFIC BUSTER. She posted the fic my friend did to her facebook account and she even posted a screen cap of heysay_fanfic and telling everyone she knows how the authors shouldn't be idolized in some way.
She even said that a true fan has no dirty thoughts about her idol.
Seriously, all fans that I know has somehow lust over her idol. Not one human has no lust in their body. So I believe. Plus, who knows about her standards in how to be a true fan.
So based on her opinion, NOT ONE SINGLE MEMBER of heysay-fanfic is worthy enough to be a JUMP fan. She even generalized all fans by saying "Everyone, don't be like them,".. So does it mean all fans interested in smut fics are not worthy of being a fan of their idol? I'm not just talking about Hey!Say!JUMP fans here, I'm talking about all kinds of fans.
Won't you feel deprived, insulted in some ways with what this person said? it's like telling us that we're all dirty and immoral people. I don't think I can take that. We have the right to feel what we want, think what we want, read the fanfics we like and write the fanfics we want to share with everyone.
If so we're not worthy of being a fan, then I'm guessing she and her supporters will be the only fans left in this world. I wonder how that will work.
Plus, if she doesn't like smut fics, why did she even bother to read what my friend wrote? My friend clearly put at the top of her fanfic that it is smut. So haters gonna hate, don't read it if you don't like it.
I know I shouldn't be wasting time for a person like her but my author and fan pride was insulted and it's not like I'll just quiet down about it. I don't think I will. She's obviously a close-minded person who's not open for anything against her.
FELLOW AUTHORS, THINK OF THE HARDSHIPS WE HAD FOR ALL THE FANFICS WE WROTE, ALL THOSE BRAINSTORMINGS WE DID JUST TO EXECUTE OUR FANFICS BEAUTIFULLY ACCORDING TO WHAT WE WANT. WE LOVE OUR IDOLS AND WRITING FANFICS IS JUST ONE WAY OF SHOWING OUR LOVE FOR THEM. NOT BECAUSE WE WROTE SMUT FICS FOR THEM DOESN'T MEAN WE DISRESPECT THEM. ISN'T OBVIOUS THAT WE LOVE THEM SO MUCH THAT WE'D BOTHER TO WORK ALL OF OUR BRAINCELLS JUST TO BE ABLE TO WRITE OUR FANFICS?
This girl definitely doesn't know what she's talking about.
READERS, DON'T FORGET THE HAPPINESS YOU FEEL EACH TIME YOU SEE YOUR IDOLS IN A FIC WRITTEN BY THE AUTHOR YOU REALLY LIKE.
Us authors don't ask for much, we mostly write our fanfics for free, we just want our works to be appreciated and not insulted this way. if you don't like our work then ignore it, simple as that.
