For Psych_out and anyone else who gives a rip....
Here's my playlist from my psych/prog show this past Friday...it was rippin'
-Sun City Girls - Journey to the center of your mind - Libyan Dream
great cover of the Nuge anthem about drugs. Ted apparently didn't realize until much later the subject matter.
-Pugh - Love, Love, Love - Chrerystone's Rocks comp.
This one came off this new comp very much like the nuggets/pebbles comps...mainly played it because the opening is sampled by DJ Shadow...good one though
-Olivia Tremor Control - the opera house - Dusk at Cubist Castle
-Faust - It's a rainy day sunshine girl - So Far
-Pink Floyd - Pow R Toch - Piper at the Gates of Dawn
-King Crimson - 21st Century Schizoid Man - ...Crimson King
-Pretty Things - walking through my dreams - SF Sorrow outtake included with the reissue
-Robert Fripp's League of Gentlemen - Inductive Resonance - s/t
Where new wave and prog meet up....
-Oneida - Anthem of the Moon - split 7" with Brother JT
-Acid Mothers Temple - Pink Baby Lemonade - s/t
Despite a boatload of new stuff that is mostly great, I picked this one because I've been obsessed with this song since I saw them live...next time a different one for sure.
-Can - Paperhouse - Tago Mago
-Mainliner - title track - Imaginative Plain
-Gong - Fohat digs holes in space - Camembert Electrique
-13th Floor Elevators - Rollercoasters - Psychedelic Sounds of the...
- Vajra - Track 3 - Mandala Cat Last
-Love - You set the scene - Forever Changes
-Six Organs of Admittance - Spirits Abandoned - Dark Noontide
-Amon Duul II - Dem Guten Schonen Wahren - Phallus Dei
-Robert Wyatt - Little Red Robin Hood Hits the Road - Rock Bottom
-Charalambides - Florian - Union (which I promptly scratched while trying to clean it...great)
-PG Six - The fallen leaves that jewel the ground - Parlor Tricks and Porch Favorites
-International Harvester - Dies Irae and Sov Gott Rose-Marie - Sov Gott Rose-Marie
-Quiet Sun - Mummy was an asteroid...-Mainstream
-Blue Cheer - Second Time Around - Vincebus Eruptum
-Os Mutantes - Trem Fantasma - s/t
-Creation - How does it feel to feel - Making Time comp.
-Electrelane - blue straggler - Rock it to the Moon
- went and saw 60s rap poets the Last Poets last night at a church in Detroit...mesmerizing performance...and the group of kids opening were funktacular...
it was good....and then listening to my boyz on the zone capped off a good evening.
