Being a great popular super band like Super Junior was not always about happy things. One of the consequences they should take was losing their freedom for taking a walk without being chased by ELFs or antis. That was why, in one warm and starry night, when everyone's supposed to be on their bed sleeping, Eunhyuk and Donghae were outside. They was walking hand in hand, going through the streets that they had been hundreds times gone through whenever they had a day off the next day. With Donghae being a part of Suju M, they had less time to be spent together than before, and Eunhyuk didn't want to waste the chance to do their routine activity when Donghae finally got back to Korea.
They also talked much about the others, especially about Zhou Mi and Henry, their new dongsaengs. Donghae was quite sure that there was something different between the two. He couldn’t help the thought whenever he saw the way Henry blushed when Zhou Mi’s hand touched his, and the way Zhou Mi looked at the little violinist. As they said, ‘eyes never tell lies’.
To tell the truth, Eunhyuk felt relief when he heard about that. Deep in his heart, he was actually so afraid that Henry would stand up between him and Donghae. With Zhou Mi beside him, surely Henry wouldn’t have any time for Donghae.
"Yah Donghae-ah.” Eunhyuk stopped suddenly. “How many times we have gone through this street?”
Donghae, didn’t really pay attention to what he said, answered. “I don’t know. Hundreds, thousands… Why?”
Eunhyuk poked his shoulder to bring his boyfriend’s attention to him and pointed a house before them.
“Why did I never see this house, then?”
Donghae blinked and looked up. “Whoa!”
Looked so glorious between the line of houses in its right and left side, the house was big, empty, old, haunted-looking, sending them chilly sensation up to their spine.
“It must be haunted.” Eunhyuk said.
“Seems like so.” Donghae was still awed by the look of the house.
There was a short silence.
“Let’s take a look inside.” Donghae said.
Eunhyuk opened his eyes wide. “WHAT?! Are you crazy??? At least we should take the others if we want to go there! It must be veeeery dark inside there. Dark and quiet… If it just the two of us…” He didn’t finish his sentence since the words ‘dark’ and ‘quiet’ had brought other thing on his mind.
Donghae saw the change on his face. “PERVERT!” he pointed at him. Blushing, Eunhyuk pushed him away. “Yah! I was just-wait.” His eyebrows joined when he thought. “Donghae-ah, tell me about Zhou Mi and Henry again?”
“They are in love.” Donghae said. “Why it has something to do with-oh!”
Eunhyuk grinned. “You read my mind.”
Donghae grinned back. “I always do.”
-
“Hyung-ah… What place is it?” Zhou Mi asked when he, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Henry and Ryeowook were standing in front of the house.
“I bet this house is haunted.” Donghae said with a grin on his face.
“Haunted??? No!” Ryeowook winced and hugged Zhou Mi so suddenly that the latter startled. Henry glanced at them and snorted. “There is no such thing as ghost exists in this world.”
Noticing Henry’s cold tone, Eunhyuk poked Donghae and whispered. “What’s Ryeowookie doing here? He can break our plan.”
Plan. They were about to pull a prank on Zhou Mi and Henry. The scenario was like this: they got inside the house together, and then Donghae would suggest them to be separated in two groups. He and Hyukkie would go one way while Zhou Mi and Henry went to another way. Of course, they didn’t really separate. At least only Zhou Mi and Henry thought that they did, because actually Eunhyuk and Donghae would tag them along to see what would happen between the two next…
Donghae scratched his head. “Uh… He saw me dragging Henry and Zhou Mi, so…”
Eunhyuk sighed. They had been there, so with or without Ryeowook, the prank must go on. He turned at Henry and smiled sweetly. “Yah Henry-ah. What if we go inside there and find out if it’s really haunted or not?”
Hearing this, Ryeowook released Zhou Mi and stepped back. "Pass! I will go home!" and with that, he ran away. They all looked at him until he disappeared in a curve.
"Aish, Wookie." Donghae shook his head. "So, what are we waiting for? Let's get inside!"
"You don't really serious, do you?" Zhou Mi and Henry said altogether.
"Of course we are. You two go first; me and Donghae are right behind you."
"But Hyung..." Zhou Mi protested, but Henry was already walking towards the door-made Eunhyuk, Donghae and Zhou Mi all startled since they didn’t expect that he would be that brave-and opened it.
The door creaked open.
“Come on, Hyung. Let’s get this over with…” he muttered to Zhou Mi and took a step into the house.
Knocked down, Eunhyuk and Donghae exchanged look, finding anxiety on each other’s eyes. Yes, they were actually scared themselves.
“Why don’t you get in?” Eunhyuk asked Donghae.
“Why don’t you get in?” Donghae asked back.
They stood there for seconds before strengthening their heart and stepping-very slowly-towards the door. But surprisingly, Zhou Mi was still in the doorway, blocking the door.
“Cumi-ah.” Eunhyuk patted his shoulder. “What are you doing?”
“Un?” Zhou Mi glanced back even if it was no need, since only Eunhyuk who would call him by that name. “Errrr… nothing…”
“Come on, get inside, will you?” Donghae snickered. “Don’t you loose Henry in there; this house is big and scary. We don’t know what’s inside.”
He bit his lower lip, and when he turned to the door, he found Henry had already disappeared into it. Panicked, he hurried into the house, calling. “Ah Hua!”
“Come on.” Donghae dragged Eunhyuk in after Zhou Mi disappeared on the darkness. They headed towards living room first-living room? No, it was a hall. A large hall that even larger than their dorm’s hall, but with dusts everywhere and dirty floor.
“Hello?” Eunhyuk called out stupidly. Many steps before them, Zhou Mi and Henry stopped.
“What’s up?” Donghae questioned when they reached the dongsaengs.
Henry pointed out. “Corridors. Lots of corridors.” And his voice was trembling a bit. He started to get scared. So did the others. Eunhyuk couldn’t move his body and needed to grab Donghae’s arms to keep him standing, but he spoke up nonetheless, hoping to sound brave. “Okay, let’s go there.”
Donghae looked at him and gulped, part of him wanted to tell them that it was a joke, but another part of him knew it was too late, so he played his part. “Wait… Maybe we should separate?”
The other three looked at him at once.
“Yeah…” Eunhyuk nodded, remembering their plan. “Yeah… Let’s separate. Erm, me and Donghae will go on left… and you two right, ok?” he pretended to be calm. Seeing this, Donghae couldn’t lose. “Yeah, yeah, you go right and we’ll go left. Let’s meet again… Uh… Wherever we’ll meet.”
Zhou Mi looked want to say something but Henry quickly grabbed his hand, saying, “Okay. We’re going this way.” And they left the hall.
Eunhyuk opened wide. That was them who were supposed to leave the dongsaengs according to the plan!
“Yah, yah, come on, we can’t lose them.” Donghae whispered. Eunhyuk suddenly got weak on his arms.
“But Hae, I’m scared.” He admitted. “This house is scarier than it looks. You go first and I’ll be right behind you.”
“Whaaa! Why do you say that? I’m scared, too!” Donghae retorted, moving closer to him. “You go first and I’ll be right behind you.”
While they were talking, Henry and Zhou Mi went further, almost lost of their sight.
“Hae we couldn’t ruin the plan.” Eunhyuk decided, forcing his fears away and taking his boyfriend’s hand.
The two started tagging the dongsaengs along.
Some minutes passed in silence when they walked quietly behind the dongsaengs, on the safe distance that they couldn’t see them clearly, but could recognize every little move they made. Donghae was scared to death. The house was too quiet and all he could see was Zhou Mi’s white shirt in front of him. He hated anything’s white at the time like this.
Suddenly he heard knocks behind them, and stopped.
“Yah, don’t stop Hae. We’ll lose them.” Hyukkie warned him under his breath, looking at his companion who didn’t move and seemed like trying to listen to something.
“Hyukkie-ah, did you hear that?” Donghae asked.
Without shifting his gaze from Henry and Zhou Mi, Eunhyuk asked back absently. “Hear what?” and thought that the two looked okay so far. He needed something to scare them out. He had to do something.
“That knocks.” Donghae answered warily.
Knocks? Hey, that’s brilliant idea!
“Hae, you’re genius!”
“Eh?” Donghae blinked confusedly. “What?”
Ignoring him, Eunhyuk walked faster, approaching the dongsaengs. They were walking slowly with Zhou Mi clung on Henry. Carefully not to make any sound, he opened one of the doors and sneaked in. Donghae followed behind him panicky. “Hyukkie-ya what are you doing?”
“Sssh! Come, look.” He made sure the dongsaengs couldn’t see them even if they turned around, and knocked the door harshly three times.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!”
Three voices screamed at the same time. Zhou Mi, Henry, and Donghae.
Annoyed, Eunhyuk covered Donghae’s mouth with his hands. “Sssh! Idiot!”
“What’s that?” Henry turned around, looking for anything he could expect. “Who’s that???”
“Ah Hua I t-think I heard Hae-hyung’s s-s-screaming.” Zhou Mi stuttered.
Hearing this all, Eunhyuk tried hard to restrain his giggles.
“It’s impossible, Hyung, he’s on another side of this house with Hyukjae-hyung.” Henry said.
“Then it must be a ghost!” Zhou Mi replied stubbornly.
“You’re just being paranoid.” Henry said again, even though his voice was trembling a bit. He looked around once again before seeing Zhou Mi and taking his hand into his. “I did hear it too. Maybe… Maybe it won’t be that… dangerous if we’re together…”
Zhou Mi, thinking that acting as heroic as possible might help, said. “Ah… I mean, I’m okay, Henry-ah. I’m worrying about you.”
The words had turned Henry’s cheek into red, and then he shook his head a bit. “I’m okay. Let’s walk. We shouldn’t stop here, waiting to be eaten by ghost or being laughed at when we meet Hyukjae-hyung and Donghae-hyung.”
The resumed walking further into the corridor, flinching at every creak the frail floor made, completely didn’t know that many feet behind them, Eunhyuk and Donghae watched their every move, heard their every word, clearly.
-to be continued-
