Maron-kun has Passed Away
I am greatly saddened to bring the news that Intetsu just posted a blog entry informing that Maron-kun passed away the day before yesterday.

Rest Well, Maron-kun
The day before yesterday, Maron-kun passed away.
Actually, he had been ill since little while ago,
And we were bringing him to the hospital and giving him medicine,
But on the night of the day before yesterday, Maron-kun moved on to heaven while by my mother’s side.
To me, and to my family,
Maron-kun was happiness and joy itself.
He was loved by everyone.
When I first saw him in the pet shop,
He was still a baby,
And I remember asking him “Do you want to come to my home?”
Maron-kun and I spent time together all the way till now,
From my student days
Before Ayabie had started.
When I got back from lives,
Maron-kun would be waiting for me in his cage.
The sight of him munching his food was so cute,
I really enjoyed and looked forward to giving him some dried fruits.
He was by my side during the happy times,
As well as the painful times.
Just by being with him, my heart gets warmed.
He was a rabbit who seemed magical.
Partings are an inevitable part of being alive.
I think that as long as we managed to spend time happily,
We can be glad for that.
But, even now I’m still sad.
Even though I know this,
When I think that he’s no longer here,
I can’t stop my tears from spilling over.
When he got ill,
We were told by the vet that he didn’t have much longer.
Maron-kun ended up being unable to even eat,
And my mother and I cuddled him while crying together.
The vet gave us a medicine that smelled of vanilla.
When I put it into Maron-kun’s mouth with a syringe,
He licked at it just a little bit.
Despite being unable to eat, he likes sweet things.
Even though he didn’t have energy,
Right to the end, he was Maron-kun-like,
And when I saw that, I cried again.
I am really, really blessed and happy to have been able to been with Maron-kun.
He’s not only my Maron-kun,
But my whole family’s Maron-kun,
And all the fan’s Maron-kun as well.
He has been incredibly loved by
All of you around the world
Who have said “Maron-kun’s cute”
And done things for him like giving snacks and presents.
I’d be glad if all of you won’t forget
The flop-eared rabbit Maron-kun
Who has given me (us) many precious memories.
