Ha ha ha that sounds SO opportunistic, I can't imagine that going over well with a company in the States either. Man, now I'm curious because I really can't imagine a company doing that!

i knoooow, i was like... dont they feel embarrassed??? ashamed of how greedy they are making themselves come off to not only my dad's company but the other company they're working with???? i mean it can't be fostering a good business relationship to look like inconsiderate mooches. but then i was like well i probably shouldn't judge (yet ;p) because maybe that's just the way they do things over there?? @_@;;

very odd!

simple "doing business in..." and "culture shock in..." google searches don't show anything direct, i want to know what the best answer would be!

how about http://www.israelpr.com/doingbusiness.html "gift giving"...
your dad could try turning the tables and say that he's always been curious as to what a normal home cooked meal is like in israel!

My mom is Israeli and agrees with me on this so yeah...ISRAELIS ARE RUDE RUDE ENTITLED PEOPLE. I had to serve a lot of them when I worked at Peet's so I can say this first hand. They are mean in America and mean in Israel.
