V -- side step

I used to like Ginny/Luna alot more, but then I got super depressed that the seventh book completely ignored the ripe field of Harry/Luna that opened up at the end of the fifth book, so I started to like really dark one sided Luna towards Ginny fics, which eventually evolved into a Luna/Hermione obsession, because when things are said and done I like relationships between similar people in disagreement.

Anyways, Digimon X-Evolution will be short, because it's really a tv movie to explain x antibody digimon. Yggdrasil isolates 'pure' digimon in a separate reality, due to overpopulation. Though I really think it's probably contamination. Humans cause Digimon to evolve much too quickly, which causes them to use up more space data.
The X virus is released into the general world to kill off 'problem' digimon and reclaim the land.
Then digimon evolve around the virus. The Yggdrasil did not expect this, sends the Knights to solve the problem of Digimon not dying off like they're supposed to, and Yggdrasil eventually abandons the Adventure/Tamers Digital world for other dimensions.

Which brings me to Savers.
Yggdrasil, completely confused as to how Digimon could evolve around a program designed to kill them specifically, creates a simulation universe of mixed digimon types, to observe them. This probably doesn't achieve anything research wise, so Yggdrasil also creates a simulation human world, and allows limited interaction between the two.
Yes, at this point we are dealing with simulated virtual digital monsters, and simulated digital humans.
Mind you, the source of Masaru's power is not that he's stupid. It's that he does not see a difference between himself and digimon. And in a matrix like fashion this is allowed, because it's fundamentally true.

Savers is also where the interaction between the two most easily observed, because both sides are data constructs. Human Emotions... let me get the exact line:
"Human emotions make us Digimon stronger!"
"And the Digimon give us both dreams and courage!"

It's a codependent relationship, with the potential to expand. Digimon after being exposed to Humans, can learn about their emotions, and evolve beyond just being fighting monsters. Yggdrasil still has problems understanding how that works. Most of Yggdrasil's interactions can be summarized under the fact that when the two species cross, miracles start happening, and miracles confuse it badly.

On a small side note, alot of people were upset that Agumon did not evolve to Alphamon while fighting Yggdrasil in Savers. To them I'd like to say 'fuck you, you fucking bastards'.
You people are the reason I like Pokemon more then Digimon anyways. Were burst modes not enough? Mega Ultimate Plus Stage is already sickening. Digimon Adventure finished out both series without everyone going to final stage, and using teamwork and a bit of magic to overcome problems.
Since that point Digimon has made a point to become worse then DBZ with crappier fights. Seriously, the fights in Frontier are HORRIBLE, and while Pokemon does focus on a limited pool of characters, they continue to 'suffer through' world ending events without everyone magically gaining the power of Gods just to deal with one world ending event.

Yes, Thunder Armor is a silly abuse of the Guts status and electricity over in Pokemon. The show does stupid things. Often. But in no way has that series every thrown so much garbage my way as Digimon. Hyper Bio Evolution for example. How about only two characters getting access to Double Spirit Evolution, even though it seems like something pretty reasonable considering the characters who didn't also have more natural control of their beast spirit rages? I can even accept the Hyper spirit evolution a bit later, but they all really should be able to pull off a double. it's not like they're mixing and matching spirits.

Seriously, the magical bullshit in Digimon easily outstrips the magical bullshit in Pokemon both by volume and ratio. There's more random shit in any given season of Digimon, then ten seasons of Pokemon.
And trust me, when you're reading character actions and body movements over people blathering, pokemon have more character almost point for point.

... Not to mention, Alphamon, being a Royal Knight, could not take Yggdrasil in a fight.
