The glove compartment is inaccurately named, and everybody knows it
Two mildly interesting stories from today:
First, usc_liz and I were driving to school, and some dude was crossing Assembly at Blossom. I said he could be cute, if he would just turn and look at us. As soon as I said that, he started jogging across the street. I commented, "As usual, I think a guy is cute and he runs away." usc_liz replied, "No, he's just running because there are cars coming." Hahahaha. The pun was unintentional, but funny nonetheless.
Second, we watched the second half of this movie "Murder on a Sunday Morning" in criminal procedure. The public defender was going to cross-examine a police officer that beat a confession out of the defendant. He went outside to smoke a cigarette before the cross-examination. The officer was outside and he told the lawyer, "Go ahead, suck down one of those cancer sticks." The lawyer stated there was no love lost between them. In typical, over-the-top fashion, the public defender said he told the officer, "I always enjoy a cigarette before having sex." He said this because he wanted the officer to know he was going to "screw him." I thought this was hilarious. The entire class laughed. There was soooo much over-the-top cinematography in the documentary. But that just made it more entertaining.
I called the folks I interviewed with in D.C. today. Apparently they haven't made as much progress going through applications as they hoped. I doubt I will hear from them before the deadline for the other job. And I refuse to gamble. I don't want to end up unemployed.
Lily, my little brother's dog, has to wear one of those plastic cone things around her head so she won't chew on this sore on her leg. She looks so goofy. She can't walk around without walking into the walls with it. I'm going to try to get litteach71 to take a picture so I can post it. She's so pitiful.
I did a little bit of crim pro outlining. I was kinda pissy when I got home, because everyone else ate potato soup for dinner (one of my favorite things to eat), but it was made with beef broth. So, I didn't eat it. Instead I had a small helping of cajun black-eyed peas and some popcorn. Kinda disappointing.
I'm going to be pretty busy studying for school during the break this week, so I doubt I will be online much. At least, I'm going to try not to be online too much. But you can feel free to call me. You can email me if you don't have my cell number. I have free minutes after 9. w00t.
Also, I'm thinking that it would be fun to send Christmas/holiday cards. I will try to make them non-denominational holiday cards in the spirit of the recent discussion of freedom of religion in my con law class (yes, I am a dork, thanks for noticing). Anyway, I have addresses for some of my friends, but not most. So, if you want a card from me, and you aren't afraid that I'll stalk you, feel free to email me your address.
