So, the following was just swirling through my head while I was trying - and failing - to come up with a good introduction to my Honours thesis. Why think of a good opening sentence when I can have some lulz about university instead?

My best friend is majoring in Linguistics at Melbourne and apparently the faculty contains the most amazing pricks such as people who join the Aboriginal Languages class and spend the entirety of each tutorial arguing that "Aboriginals never amounted to anything" and how "useless studying their language is because they weren't civilized". In one of his more recent classes, one of the students asked why they just couldn't switch from studying the Aboriginal language to German. You'd think the name of the class would ring some bells and possibly deter anyone with some stupid vendetta against a certain culture..
