Oh my God I'm still so giddy it's unbelievable. (The fact that I leave for England tomorrow helps, of course. *g*)

I am so proud and happy and for the first time in many years, damn glad to be an American.

We did it.

We actually did it.

Our Amendment 2 passed...which means Florida just defined marriage as being between a man and a woman only. So yeah, there are sucky parts of the election, but overall, I'm so incredibly thrilled it's unbelievable. :-)

Was up until about 12:30, watching Obama's speech live and then it took me almost another hour to calm down enough to go to sleep. :-)

Oh crap. It's so fucking depressing to see those amendments passed. Especially in blue states. Can't believe CA looks like passing Prop 8, given San Francisco and all.

Obama's speech was just awesome. What an orator.

I should go to bed right now, but I'm drinking celebratory wine and feel like I could party all fucking night.

I knew the minute he won Pennsylvania, John McCain didn't have a chance.

It was such a fucking thrill watching one significant state after another fall. Pennsylvania. Ohio. Florida. Virginia. Etc. Sweetness. What a demolition.

I honestly was surprised by Florida. It really could have gone either way.

I just feel such a huge sense of accomplishment- I was there 22 months ago when he announced that he was running, and here we are almost 2 years later with the victory. It tastes oh so sweet! :)

I honestly find it weird that people thought McCain had a realistic chance in the first place. xD I went to sleep when the first polls closed and I knew what the result was already.

It wasn't a complete loss as far as ballot initiatives. South Dakota and Colorado rejected abortion bans, and California rejected a mandate that minors get permission and wait 48 hours before being allowed an abortion.

Still, Prop 8 makes me so angry. Cali is better than that. I wasn't surprised Arizona and Florida passed their bans though.

Here, here.

I had goosebumps. I cried. I felt that yesterday was historical, it will have reverberations, in a positive way.

Love it.

Prop Hate. :( It was such a beautiful moment. I was with two of my best friends, both black, and they were just sobbing the whole time. However, in the south, for the most part, the African-Americans are the only people excited. Every person on my facebook status feed blew up, and they're continuing to flood it with remarks about this becoming a socialist country and moving to Canada. It's heart-breaking to see, so I'm just hoping that he does the job he's promised to do and proves everyone how great of a president he can be.
