I do not understand how people listen to music through speakers. This evening, while Luke and I were cooking and eating our dinners, we used his iPod to play songs through my sound system's speakers, and despite the fact my speakers have some seriously good bass on them, I just didn't enjoy the music as much as when I wear headphones. Songs that I think are exceptional simply sounded lifeless; I could not figure out why I thought they were so spectacular because all the wonderful intricacies that I notice with headphones seem lost through speakers. I am thoroughly convinced that the only way to hear music is through headphones. Too much detail is missed with speakers. It's the difference between standing in front of a painting to admire it (and even employing a magnifying glass to really inspect the fine details thoroughly), and checking it out through dirty binoculars from a few blocks away.
Also, I'm starting to think that maybe I should go and have a haircut, but I hate going to the hairdresser so I'm just letting my hair grow instead. As it stands, my hair is longer than I've ever had it (though I'm positive most females reading this would have much longer hair). Maybe I should just grow my hair seriously long, start a metal band, and release a debut single entitled Your Musical Taste Sucks.
Speaking of long hair,
this video of Dream Theater in the Majesty era performing A Fortune In Lies is absolutely hilarious. John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy particularly amuse me.
