Chapter 6:

Ever since that night Jun raped him, Nino was starting to lose his will to go against the other man. He was tired. He was aching. He was losing strength. Everyday had been living hell to him since that night. Previously, Jun only humiliated him in front of everybody, but now, the older man resorted to physical violence.

He had been beaten. He had been kicked. He didn’t know how much more he could take. Waking up every morning was a total chore. His legs were weak, he was losing control over his arms and his headache was killing him. Maybe giving up was his only option.

Nino rested against a huge shady tree as he watched the fishes swim merrily in the pond a few meters in front of him. He sighed. It was the first time he had been free from the DoS prince and Nino was intending to use whatever time he had when Jun was at a meeting to take in the fresh air and try to rejuvenate, not knowing when his next rest would be.

Subconsciously, Nino rubbed his abdomen, trying to sooth the dull ache that had been there since that night. He pouted, unsure of what to feel. He hated the older man for sure. He hated the way Jun had claimed him without permission. He hated how Jun had forced himself on him without being the least bit gentle, but…that look he saw in Jun’s eyes…that look made the hatred in him disappear like mist with the rising sun. Something else took its place. Shame? Understanding? Pity? He didn’t know what it was, but for some reason, all he saw that night was a frightened little boy.

Turning back to the fishes in the pond, Nino tried not to think about that night. It was over and there was nothing he could do about it. It’s best to pretend that nothing happened. Eyes focused on the swimming fishes, Nino didn’t realize a pair of eyes was staring at his back.

His meeting had ended a long time ago, and it had been so boring that Jun wanted to look for Nino immediately. His slave was nowhere to be found and his servants claimed they didn’t know where he was. He had been fuming as he searched the castle for Nino, wanting to give the smaller man a piece of his mind when he found him. However, when he did, Jun couldn’t bring himself to do so.

Watching Nino sit under a huge tree with the beautiful pond as the backdrop, a weird feeling assaulted his chest. It was a warm feeling, like butter on a hot plate, soft and fluffy.

Oh god, was he falling for Nino?

Jun clutched his chest through his shirt, hoping it would stop beating so fast. It was making him dizzy. He didn’t like that feeling. Being stabbed a hundred times was way less painful than the feeling he got just by seeing Nino. Jun clenched his fist in fury. How was Nino doing it? Not only did Nino have control over his servants, he also seemed to have control over his emotions as well.

No, Nino was just his slave. He just needed some reminder, that’s all.

Back aching, wrists sore, fingers bleeding, Nino tried his best to keep up with his workload. He really didn’t understand what Jun was thinking. It started out with simple humiliation, then he started using physical violence, and now the Pine-tree prince was trying to make his life worse than hell.

He didn’t know what he did to trigger the taller prince’s worsening attitude towards him. All he could do was whatever Jun wanted him to do and keep quiet as the taller man beat him up for reasons he didn’t know of.

“You’re so slow!” cried Jun, swinging the cane at Nino for the umpteenth time. Nino bit his lips, trying to take his mind off the stinging pain. He continued stitching the pieces of fabric, trying his best not to poke himself with the needle, but his hands were tired and he was sleepy and every time he dozed off, pricking his finger would wake him up instantly.

The pine-tree price had made him hand-sew new clothes, and for Nino who had never touched a sewing needle in his life, it was very tough. Not only did he get plenty of the stitching wrong, he ended up tearing most of the fabric, earning himself several whippings from Jun.

Nino only wished that Jun would be more creative with his ‘punishments’. So far, everything had to do with his mountain of clothes - from washing, ironing, mending, folding, more washing, all his chores were clothes related and Nino was starting to think that Jun was way too obsessed with fashion.

“It’s done,” announced Nino weakly, a smile small on his face as he held up the finished jacket. Jun swiped it from his hands and examined it. Although the pine-tree prince wanted to find some fault with it so that he could have Nino re-do it, there was nothing wrong with it. In fact, the workmanship was brilliant for someone with less than zero experience.

“Get out of my sight!” snarled Jun eventually. Nino didn’t need to be told twice. Hurrying out of the room as fast as he weak body would take him, Nino fled down the corridor, wanting to get back to his room as quickly as possible. However, he didn’t manage to get far before starting to feel a little light-headed. Resting against the wall, Nino tried to focus his vision, but everything started looking so blur around him. Hoping that lying down might help it dizziness, Nino pushed off from the wall, ready to return to his room when the next thing he knew, the side of his face were against the carpets and then everything turned black.

AN: Oh no! A cliffhanger! What will happen to Nino from now own? When will I upload the next chapter?? By the way, Nino has Duchenne muscular dystrophy (although because of the way I'm writing this story, the full disorder doesn't seem to be showing).
