I don't know how I've missed it all these years.
We're...German?
my mom's maiden name: Nissenbaum. Means "nut tree" in german. haah. My mom has always claimed her heritage was Russian and whatever. Which her immediate heritage sort of is. But before that...well.....
It bothers me that my mom so vehemently denies this. "NO, we're NOT GERMAN." Like it's the worst possible thing on the planet.
I can't believe I've missed this obvious clue all these years, ha!
My grandma speaks german. German was the only language my great grandma spoke. Oy.
This reminds me of when I was out with Dad in Cairns, (aussieland) and these Chinese waiters were trying to guess where we were from, and said we looked German. And it was " In our faces." haha. Who knows.
So I have mono. It could be worse. But, it's not fun. At least I didn't feel anything in Scotland. ( Which was yummy.) Except for the pound kicking my ass. mhm
Am planning next trip abroad. Ahhhh so much fun.
