So, I think I might start blogging in public about the Indians every once in a while.
C.C Sabathia, last night, was the first pitcher in the majors to reach 12 wins; yet, it looks like according to the major media sources, he will not get the nod for the start in the All Star game. Most likely, they'll go with Josh Beckett of the Red Soxs, who just lost to the Rangers last night. Yes, I know Sabathia still has one more start before the break against the Tigers, but honestly, he has been the most dominant pitcher in the AL so far this year. Not only does he have the most wins, but the most strikeouts in the AL. He goes up every night and always fans them. Last night, he had 8 K's against Tampa Bay. The man almost always goes the distance too. He has two complete games, and only one of starts he hasn't gone at least 7 innings. Yet, because Cleveland is a small market and everyone thinks Cleveland is the mistake by the lake and that's why he'll probably not get the nod. It's a shame too because he has been the most dominant pitcher in the AL this year and would have 15 wins now if the Indians offense was more dominant in the early innings. He's had too many no decisions this year.
The same goes with Victor Martinez this year, which I believe has been the most productive RBI machine so far this year. Varitek from Boston will probably end up starting. It’s a shame. Same with Sizemore. I believe, honestly, the All Star Voting should be reformed in some way. I think the selections should be made the way the CY Young is decided- by the sports writers. Because right now, the only people winning are the people in the big markets which mostly means you'll have half of the team as members of the Yankees- who are beyond terrible this year. But then again, my opinion never really counts.
