Magnum...was anxious about this.
Enough so that he'd even arrived early, so he could pace and work out the kinks in still-new servos, walking back and forth along the same torn stretch of duracrete where someone nearby had attempted to start a crystal garden before it had been overgrown.
He hadn't flown here.
He hadn't flown yet, at all, and he knew his wings were itching for it but he was anxious about that, too. There was never a moment where something wasn't happening--never a moment when he could take a break, and even the small respite he'd gotten as a bird was becoming a distant memory. The ball was rolling--he didn't have the time to think while plans in motion were already blurring by.
And then there was this.
He'd been looking forward to his homecoming, before yesterday. He'd been looking forward to returning to his troops, and making plans for conquest, and being around familiar mechs whose pasts, presents, and futures he now knew.
And then...well...there was this.
His Starscream was here. His Starscream was successful. His Starscream...
Hated him, really.
He didn't know, then, what would happen next.
