WHO: Magnum
not_your_gun and Soundwave
sound_loyal WHAT: Discussion and Decepti-fluff?
WHERE: The Hollow
WHEN: Sometime after being unbirded, but before the terranium log.
WARNINGS/NOTES: An AIM log that turned inexplicably cute. Obviously, notyourgun is Magnum, and Stupei Iori is Soundwave in disguise. :|
This came from Magnum's asking about what had occurred with the purchase of Blackout. Soundwave reports that the Tyran has been located, and that he is currently with the jet twins, and it is best they retrieve him without casualty.
notyourgun: ...You don't want to harm the jets, Soundwave?
Stupei Iori: [ . . . ] Negative.
notyourgun: ....[Smile.] Well, then. I'll see what I can do that won't have any...collateral damage. They're with Ratchet now? That...might just be perfect.
Stupei Iori: [ . . . ] Clarification: Requested.
notyourgun: Ratchet does not know I am a Decepticon. I'll just go offer to take him off their hands, and care for him--as a friend, of course.
...
Are you interested in obtaining a jet, Soundwave?
Stupei Iori: Both jets are: Required. Separation: Not viable option.
notyourgun: Funny. Dirge was interested in the same thing. Any ideas so far?
Stupei Iori: [ . . . ] Suggestion: Reformatting?
notyourgun: A memory wipe--just long enough back so that they're amenable to choosing...the correct faction?
...
Or did you mean a more personal reformat? [He lays a hand over your tape tray, curious.]
Stupei Iori: Personal reformat: Viable solution. Cassettes will honour the Decepticon cause.
notyourgun: Twin humanoid cassettes. [He quiets, a bit, remembering Rumble and Frenzy.] Alrght. I like this plan--So long as you leave them jets. I did promise Dirge some wing-mates to fly with.
Stupei Iori: Affirmative. [ . . . ] I would not remove that ability. [He's frowning behind his mask at that, lowering his head at the idea.]
notyourgun: [The hand shifts to Soundwave's shoulder.] ...they'll still be yours. Its not like he can change that, no matter how much they fly.
Stupei Iori: [ . . . ] [He glances at the hand, and nods.] Company: is appreciated.
notyourgun: ... [Steps in closer. The hand remains.] ...its one thing when they're off on a mission, and you're in a war, isn't it. You worry about them, but...what they're doing is important.
Its a whole other thing when they're not even in the universe with you.
Stupei Iori: [He pauses, unsure of how to articulate what his emotional programming is telling him. There is truth in what Magnum said, but he's still confused.] I am unaccustomed to being alone.
notyourgun: ...you've been weathering it pretty well, considering. [Soundwave...does...not seem to be objecting...so he just pulls him closer, and puts an arm around him.] But I get the feeling that you always do. It'll be better, when you have more. Even if it won't be....the same.
Stupei Iori: [Without realizing, he leans against the arm slightly - It was strangely... nice.] Replacement: Impossible. However... I would not object to new companions. It would be a 'comfort.'
notyourgun: [He...laughed, softly.] This place is close enough to the pit that even cons need comfort. [Especially with what happened to Soundwave, so far. Thinking on that...stll makes him displeased with Malus and Prime. Extremely. Displeased. His grip on Soundwave tightens....even moreso when he realizes that was an 'I' he heard.] And who could object to swelling our numbers a bit? To...keeping company, and watching each others backs...
Stupei Iori: [Soundwave would not object to any source of comfort - Particularly after Prime had resurfaced. It was not a reminder he had wanted.] Affirmative. [The more he relaxes, the harder it is to keep his formal, dettached tone.] Soundwave: Capable of watching Magnum's back.
notyourgun: You sure? There's more back there, now. [He joked, companionably, and let the other arm snake around the cassette player...just...relaxing, himself.] I will watch out for you, too. [...better than he had done, before. He still felt guilty...and then hated himself, too, for the guilt.] You are...important. To this mission. To our cause. To...me.
Stupei Iori: [Soundwave starts slightly, visibly surprised despite his lack of facial expression. He would have considered himself important to the Decepticon cause, but that was because of his abilities - Which had recently been compromised by the tampering to his programming. The fact that Magnum found him... important, left him momentarily speechless.] Soundwave- ... I will do what I am able to be worthy of that sentiment.
notyourgun: [At the sudden, slight jerk of surprise...Magnum halted. Soundwave was still one of the few mechs that he was not absolutely confident around...because he was one of the few mechs that he really respected, and really knew the full, terrifying capabilities of. And he'd...suspected that Soundwave might be willing to entertain more, but he'd...not been certain.]
...
[...not until that line.
He...smiled, and nodded, and just pulled the other close, saying little since Soundwave was not a mech of many words.] You do more than I ask, already. You are...worthy.
I...trust you. [There wasn't much more he could say but that.]
Stupei Iori: [Soundwave did not trust many mechs - He could count those he did on a single hand, and still have space. Magnum was easily top of that list. He would have done whatever was requested of him, even before the added emotional complication.
He was slow to move, but he wrapped an arm around Magnum's waist, mirroring the other's hold on him, his posture relaxing slightly.] I am... pleased.
notyourgun: So am I. [He responded, in kind...strangely just relieved to know Soundwave...'felt?' this way. It was an odd load off his back, and an extremely pleasant one, at that. There were not many mechs he could feel this...at...ease with. He'd not even noticed he was softly purring.]
Stupei Iori: [The purr was welcomed sound, one which he unknowingly mirrored with with his own engine. He let his other hand follow, slipping around the other to hold him comfortably, pleased with the proximity.
Everything felt... right, for the first time in quite a while. Even the confused thought processes couldn't detract from how genuinely... 'happy' this made him feel.]
notyourgun: Mind if we just stay like this for a while? [He asked, finally...just...enjoying the scene, the pleasantness, the lack of anything pressing or about to kill him. It'd been...a while, since he'd gotten to feel this way; Soundwave had that right. He didn't suspect he'd get the chance to again, not right away. Not like this.
Optics dimming, he let his grey helm rest against the blue and white one...and did not even try to stop his purr. There was no need to. He was content.]
Stupei Iori: Affirmative. I would enjoy that. [He rests against his helm, quite possibly smiling beneath the facemask.
He didn't know if this would happen again, or even if it did, anytime in the near future. They had plans to carry out, operations to complete - But for the moment, he was happy to simply stay like this. It was a sensation he was still unfamiliar with, but he could get very used to it.]
