The sound, of Science.

WHO: Wheeljack and anyone who happens to be around/wants to be affected (open!)
WHAT: Small scale destruction! ... for SCIENCE!
WHERE: Zone 6 - somewhere away from overly inquisitive eyes without being too dangerous
WHEN: Right about... NOW.
WARNINGS/NOTES: Long-term exposure to Wheeljack may cause hearing damage. It is best to avoid extreme volume when around him, especially for extended periods.

Wheeljack didn't miss the subtle changes that the environment took on as he passed into the lower levels. It wasn't his first time venturing into the lower half of the Nexus, but he hadn't really been paying attention to the environs before. Now, as he was actively looking for some place to set up his experiment, he noticed a lot more. It was definitely the kind of place he was seeking. People and Bots alike tended to avoid eye contact, and there was enough shadiness to give him a slight comfort... after all, he wasn't sure what he was about to try was technically legal.

The wheels of his sportscar alt-mode slowed as he crunched over gravel, maneuvering around a corner into an apparently abandoned loading dock, or ramp or something similar. He idled for a moment, running a quick scan of the immediate area. Nothing pinged, thankfully.

Transforming, he reached into his chest storage compartment and withdrew a few objects... the first being a simple sphere with a few buttons. A simple but functional audio system he'd found in a shop - it was supposed to float in place and emit pre-recorded audio through hidden speakers. Importantly, it could cover a wide range of frequencies, even those beyond standard audial spectrums. The second item was a frankenstinian  conglomeration of wires and cables and bits of metal, roughly disk-shaped with a pair of softly pulsing light nodes. His highly experimental Hybrid Energy Drive. It should be capable of tremendous power generation... provided he'd successfully managed to balance the energy distribution. Last, but not least, he pulled out a small energon cube.

He quickly wired the three items together. If this works... I can get the kind of output I need for transwarp levels. Even if just for a moment... he thought. And even if it doesn't work as intended there's bound to be another use.

Once the objects were linked, he turned on the radio, nodding when he heard the soft tonal hum. If everything went perfectly, he'd get a nice, fast thrumming when the H.E.D. kicked in. If things didn't go perfectly... He glanced around quickly, noting places to duck behind. One last thing - he disconnected his communicator, set it to record mode, and withdrew to a safe distance.
"Okay, initiating conversion sequence... now!" The H.E.D. shook, it's lights blinking. The energon cube drained, it's power being sucked into the Drive and converted. And the radio... did nothing.

"Eh?" Wheeljack checked the readings. Yeah, the drive was drawing in the power... but wasn't outputting anything. Well, what the heck had happened? He walked back over, and noticed the HED was blinking, but nothing more.  He squatted next to the device, rubbing his head at the lack of, well, anything.

Unnoticed, the last of the cube energy drained. The H.E.D. kicked on.

"-----!"

It was several minutes before Wheeljack could form a cohesive thought. That thought was: So that's what being hit by a wall of sound at every possible frequency feels like. Flaming bits of radio bounced off his prone form. Once his audials stopped ringing he could hear the continued shattering of glass and other materials around him.

It worked!

...ow.
