WHAT: O hai, othar engineering type!
WHERE: The main site of work on Magnum's little portal project.
WHEN: A good bit before movie!Soundwave made his appearance and started throwing his weight around.
Vergil's people had never been intended for the sort of socializing and interaction other races developed over time. When the Forerunners created the Huragok, they designed them to take joy in their work first and in other beings second. Not that the Huragok were incapable of polite, pleasant interaction, or even friendship, but even a hundred thousand years after the Forerunners were gone some traces of their design parameters still remained. When Vergil had a task in front of him, a machine to improve and appease, everything else- everything- took second place.
Which was why he gave no real thought to his surroundings as he opened yet another cilia-to-circuit interface with the power couplings on Magnum's portal system. He had a job to do. Pretty much anyone could have caught him by surprise, given his immersion in what he was doing.
