This... should be the place.

Naomi had followed the coordinates with the precision her supervisor constantly commended her for, and the area it had led her to seemed ideal for a fight, but it also seemed to be abandoned. But that couldn't be right-- hadn't he said he'd be waiting for her? Had he gotten sidetracked?

The girl hesitated, clearly confused by his absence. Ironhide hadn't given off the impression of someone not likely to keep his word, and particularly when he had more or less demanded that she do this.

... No. He would be waiting. And even if she didn't see him, that didn't mean anything.

So where was he?

There she was. Her comm signal matched.

Slowly, taking care to move so that not so much as a servo squeaked, he slipped from concealment, one huge foot padding towards her after another. His working cannon emerged from his forearm with a soft, whir as he stalked closer.

If she turned around now, he'd have to brace for a full-out take-down. But if all went well, maybe he could get right up behind her.

There was a slight grin on his faceplates as he drew closer.

For her part, Naomi didn't move. She was still glancing around uneasily, but her gaze remained limited to mostly in front of her and just a few inches off to either side.

From what Jazz had told her about Ironhide, she couldn't afford to underestimate him (not that she would have). He was one of the best when it came to fighting, and this was a test. In a situation like this... if B.A.B.E.L. had set it up, she would have been dodging things coming from her at all directions. She'd verified forward, left, and right. And that left...

There.

Naomi spun, a small burst of red energy flying from her hand straight at the mech approaching her. As a first strike, it wasn't anything brutal-- but it would do a little more than just sting if it struck.

Oh, she was quick!

His faceplates folded into a mad grin as she somehow fired on him. Before he could dodge effectively, it struck him in the bad leg--it was slower to react than the rest of him. The pain was nothing new. A shock, mostly, that she'd managed to actually hurt him.

But then, he was used to it. And he only grinned harder, flicking his good cannon in her direction as he rolled sideways.

Plasma missiles fired, straight towards her.

...

Of course, if she didn't dodge in time, they would impact the ground far behind her. He'd aimed too high on purpose.
