Who: IDW!Megatron, IDW!Prime, Movie!Blackout, Movie!Ironhide, later SG!Megatron, Kino, BW!Depth Charge.
What: The Zone 9 Infiltration team starts to meet at their rendezvous point, and realize that the other members are not who they were expecting to see...
When: Monday night through Tuesday morning.
Where: At the Arena, in an out-of-the-way hall. Its a good place, everyone knows it, and they can blend into the crowd before they mask their signals.
Notes: This is the beginning of the 'Infiltration' plan that Operation Wildfire is providing a distraction for. The rest of Infiltration will occur in separate logs.
It was time, and Magnum was through with being patient.
He knew that, even if tonight was a success, patience would still be necessary for a good while into the future, but it wouldn't hurt if little bit of indulgence occurred before then. The very thought of being able to make a strike against the transtechs caused the agitated rumble of his engine to smooth into a purr, taut servos stretching and relaxing in anticipation of the possibilities that awaited after their raid.
At the best...oh. So much potential. A portal home, technology, upgrades...
At the worst...well, he'd be found out and ported to a dead universe, according to Logan, but at least the waiting would be over.
Besides, failure was going to be unacceptable. There would be no 'worst cases,' tonight.
He had to calm himself from being cocky, though, knowing how very dangerous this still could be, even moreso after the dark warnings from the rotor-bladed Tyran. Split second decisions would require his full processing power, his full strength, his full speed, the ability to understand disparate elements and give the right orders at the right time to thwart any unforeseen eventualities. He could do it.
And if he couldn't, well...
...there was another Megatron on the team who very likely could. His backup. And that had been planned, too.
Cometfall's deportation had not been planned, however, which would also make 'Multivariable' be his alternate systems analyst should his primary 'hacker' be compromised. It was a good thing he had asked Ironhide to bring along a 'friend,' as well, otherwise the mission would be down by one. He'd asked Depth Charge, too, just in case (figuring that either the manta or the 'friend' would be there or not, and if both showed then more were...better odds)...which amused him, in a way, because of how many 'good guys' were going to be accompanying him.
It pleased him, actually...
If he could manage to unite bots who had such predisposition towards him, then returning to muster his forces in Kaon would seem like a well-oiled crankshaft in comparison.
Right.
Not being cocky.
He would have to keep remembering that.
So he leaned back, instead, sighing against a wall with a hiss from his cooling vents, running a diagnostic to make certain he was operating at top efficiency. He still had some scorch-marks from the fire, but, well...
...he'd probably have a few more by the end of tonight. The ID and tracking scramblers were ready (the ones he could salvage and have Swindle rebuild,) and he and Blackout had already been outfitted with theirs, just awaiting the arrival of the rest.
He'd even polished his cannon.
So, like he'd thought before, everything was pre-set and in perfect preparation. The fires were started, the operation was 'go.'
It was time.
