She'd been taking the old motorcycle she'd been working on out for a test drive. There were a lot of glitches with the thing, it had been in horrible condition when she'd found it in the junkyard. It coughed and sputtered as she rode it, but she hadn't had much of a chance to work on it recently. When one looked at it, she'd worked on it for about the span of two days overall, which she considered rather impressive. She'd taken a completely nonfunctional vehicle with busted cogs and gears and transmission and motor and turned it into something drivable in about forty-either hours.

Not bad, for a mechanic with her hand in a cast...brace...thing.

So, here she was, testing it out when she found a familiar vehicle soaking up the sun. She skidded to a stop, then moved her bike up next to him, tugging her helmet off with her good hand.

"Sunbathing again, Kitt?"

"Recharging," he agreed. "Hello, Mikaela."

Her work on the motorcycle was impressive - even more impressive considering the cast on her wrist. It was good to see that she was doing well and it seemed that his 'disappearance' from the Tyran warehouse had been taken well enough.

"How have you been?"

She grinned at him, toeing the kickstand out so she could get off.

"I'm doing good." She playfully nudged Kitt's door with her elbow once she was close enough. "I miss you being around the warehouse. Don;t blame you for ditching though, it's kind of a mess right now." It was true, she definitely missed having him around. She'd spent a lot of time with him, she'd gotten used to his presence, and chattering at him whenever she passed him.

"Who'm I gonna talk to when I can't sleep, huh?"

"I have not firewalled your messages from the communicator channels," he pointed out. "And you are always welcome to visit if you wish.

"But I would like you to know, I did not choose to leave because of the mess. I chose to leave because it seemed the Autobots will have enough to concern themselves with as they rebuild without my presence being an obstacle. I will assist, of course, if they need."

He owed them that.

"You're so literal, Kitt." She laughes, though she shakes your head. "I doubt they considered you any kind of obstacle. 'S your choice, though. And I'll definitely come visit you." Probably more than he wanted, but that's how Mikaela is with her friends. She likes being around them.

She gives him a pat, then hesitates. "Ah, mind if I sit with you for a while?" She doesn't want to pester him, but there was no way she was going to drive by without stopping to say hi.

"Not at all," Kitt answered. Beneath her elbow, his door unlocked - quiet permission for her to open it and sit inside if she wanted. "How have you been since I last saw you?"

"Better." She admits as she pulls the door open, settling herself comfortably in the seat. "Glad to be outta the hospital and home, even though my room and the base is kind of a mess." Trashed was a better term.

"How about you? You liking your new place...?"

"It is... quiet," he answered, "and smaller than base. And there are more... neighbors."

It was unusual. He was used to being hidden. Where he was staying now, though, people could see him come and go. It left him feeling... strange.

"I bet it's quiet." Mikaela couldn't imagine not living with the Tyrans anymore; somehow all the ruckus made it feel kind of like home.

"Neighbors? How they treatin' ya...?" She smiles, though her question is serious.

"As yet, they have not approached. I do not believe they will. I have heard of the concept of 'housewarming', but it seems the tradition is earth-only. It would also be a pointless venture. I need nothing more than the shelter." Amenities would be lost on him. He had shelter and light and could absorb energy from the sun - he needed nothing else.

"Yeah...housewarming presents are sometimes tradition. I'll have to get you oike, a bonsai tree or something." She grins, though she's being rather serious. Being stuck in a garage with....well, just that...had to be lonely. "You coulda stayed in my shop, you know. You've seen it, 's pretty big. Loads of room in there for ya."

"I am not certain zoning would allow it, however. Is your shop not zoned as Commercial?" A zoning violation could be a serious fine. He knew that much from Mike's various odd friendships that he'd learned of.

"It is." She shrugged. She doesn't seem to be terribly concerned about it. "Offers there though, if times get tough." Which she knew was entirely possible, things happened.

"I will remember," he agreed. "Thank you. You have all helped me immeasurably."

"It's cause we like you." She smiled, then shifted.

"Um...did you...get rid of that thing that I asked you to?"

knightslegacy August 30 2009, 04:23:16 UTC
"I did. It made for adequate... target practice, and I left it in a state that could be best described as 'unidentifiable'." He illustrated with an image on his windshield of a well-charred mark on the ground in an abandoned area.
