Cliffjumper had come upon the scene right after Shepard did, and while he'd been ready to do something about it, it all just... resolved itself. Staring at the enfolding scene curiously, Cliffjumper shook his helm incredulously, though at least the human was as (well-armed and) confused as he was.

"I'd ask if ya had some way to calm people with your precense, but since you seem to be as confused by that as I was..." He trails off with a shrug, speaking up after she'd finished typing. He don't think he can think of any Cybertronian with a power like that, so either it's innate, nothing to do with the woman, or it was something like Sephie.

And while Sephie had been fine, and Toph was okay too, despite the fact that he still wasn't sure about the 'magic' angle, he's still wary about scrap like this.

She glances at him in surprise, first that a synthetic had noticed her and then at how short this one is compared to the others. She doesn't have to completely cran her neck to look up at him.

"Never had this happen before and I've been in my fair share of fire-fights," Shepard frowns. Most of the time when she showed up it was quite the opposite and they all decided to try to kill her instead of each other.

"Must be the city then, or somethin'... This place gets up to some slaggin' strange scrap." Cliffjumper shook his helm, eyeing the woman and then her weapon and grinned slightly.

"Nice gun, by the way." Cliffjumper paused as he remembered the conversation with Rapunzel, and the few strange things that seemed to have been going on lately on the network.

"Hey. You didn't get somethin' from someone trick or treatin' ya?"

Where had he put that energon cube, anyway? He couldn't remember. Well, if anything, it should be back at the apartment.

"I'm starting to notice that," she mutters. She shifts the weapon in her hand, giving Cliffjumper a better look. "M-76 Revenant, top of the line assault rifle. Mine's modified to increase the accuracy."

"Actually, yeah, I did. I didn't know they trick or treated around here," maybe that was wrong of her but considering it's an alien planet how was she supposed to know?

Shepard gives him a confused look-that was sort of random, "Why?"

The rifle is obviously too small for him, but nice weaponry is nice weaponry and deserves some appreciation so he just shrugs a bit at her look.

"Too small for me, just curious. Since it's modified, did ya have to sacrfice anythin' for the increased accuracy?" At some point, after all, there's a tradeoff between raw output/power and ease of targeting and accuracy, and while Cliffjumper definitely can appreciate a nice, clean accurate shot, he does have a certain... love for a huge whomp or explosion when a shot lands.

The question had been kind of random, but the Halloween-related goings-on are fresh on his processor, so Cliffjumper shakes his helm, frowning slightly.

"Seems a few strange things've happened when people've gotten trick or treated... An' I'd say that normally there ain't any trick or treatin' here, but there's a human population. Though I've never seen humans just disappear like the trick or treater that appeared for me did." He still doesn't like it; that shouldn't have happened!

"Nothing was sacrificed. All it needed was the addition of a targeting VI. It still suffers at more than medium distance and the recoil is moderate but I've had plenty of practice," Shepard's modifications had been calculated and scientifically calculated so there wasn't a sacrifice. The gun itself was already pretty high end; the accuracy was the only thing that had been lacking. She might not like the Collectors but she could approve of their taste in weapons.

There's a pause as she considers her trick or treater and what she had been doing leading up to coming down here. "He did leave one of the candy bars behind. I might've eaten it," she had just tossed it back in the pile. Who knows if it was the same one?

While it doesn't, of course, matter much to him what the gun has or hasn't or how it performs, Cliffjumper's still interested and listens, nodding at the end.

"Nothin' wrong with short-distance guns, really. Just gotta know when to use what."

Cliffjumper huffs as she comments on the trick or treater situation and her own specifically, crossing his arms briefly and frowning. He hasn't thought overly much about all this; it's easy to understand that too much that has nothing to do with the TransTech Shockwave (as far as anyone knows) goes on in this city.

"Huh. I suppose it doesn't matter if whatever those pacifyin' powers are come from the trick or treatin' thing or not, but since a few things have been happenin' 'round Halloween... At least yours is useful." Not that he'd want that ability; it may not be the most correct of stances, but if he couldn't get to beat up bad guys, he'd slaggin' atrophy probably.

"No problems there. I have them all covered," she gestures back at the square shaped holder on her back that has the outline of several guns on it. There's an empty space where her rifle usually folds together and shrinks down to fit in but other than that they are jammed in pretty tightly.

"It is, gives me the creeps though," Shepard would prefer a fire-fight at this point. Most of the people she deals with aren't nice.

Oh, that was a very nice selection and number of weapons; it's also interesting they seem capable of shrinking. When she expresses being unsettled by this new 'ability' though, Cliffjumper snorts.

"If it was me, yeah, I'd be rather creeped out, too. An' frustrated. I'd rather get physical and be sure they're down than have 'em all just shake hands and walk off... Even if that's probably what you should hope to happen." He shakes his helm, feeling marginally guilty over preferring to beating his opponents up (or shooting at them), but he just can't see trusting anyone who would just break up like that.

Not in the sort of conflict and with the sort of people he's been involved with the conflicts in, on the other side. There was no slagging way they'd be sincere, neither the positive polarity 'Cons, or the negative polarity Autobots.

"The trouble with people like that is they don't stay nonviolent. They'll just be back out here shooting at each other again tomorrow," Shepard sighs. "I've seen it enough to know."

Sometimes it's easier to just nip a problem in the bud before it escalates into something larger, which is what she had been trying to do with the Reapers before she had been yanked to this damn city.

The observation had Cliffjumper grinning slightly. Yeah, that was how it was, wasn't it? Not even when they had had to work together to save their planet(s), maybe their reality, had that stopped the hostility later, the Decepticons refusing to give up. Not that Cliffjumper regretted that, really, because he didn't trust anyone of them alive.

"Oh, yeah. Even if you've slammed 'em down, they sometimes just keep coming back for more."

"Sounds like we're in agreement," Shepard checks her weapon again out of habit and glances around. She isn't comfortable sticking around to see if the two groups come back to start shooting again. If possible she'd rather avoid the firefight.

"Mind if we talk and walk?"

Cliffjumper frowns briefly, looking down the street, back to the alley and then to Shepard, and finally shrugs. He's not certain where she's going, and while she is just one human... she's a well-armed one. But, he was about to move further up the zones anyway.

"Sure. Anythin' particular?" He gives her an arch look; he doesn't have any illusions about his... being particularly nice about talking to random people. It's been slightly easier with the network here; allows for a secure distance most of the time.
