"Well, I don't want to hurt you, I want to help you!" Megamind says, scandalized at the very idea -- after all, he would have been scandalized at the very idea when he was actively villaining about. He didn't really want to hurt anybody, just play the most advanced cops and robbers game ever.

He pulls up the schematics he got from his scan, and brings Wheatley over to one of the bays with so many strange looking tools-- some of them with spikes and other 'decorative' items-- the lightening bolt motif is VERY prominent here...

"But you know, unfortunately, sometimes there's some blood sweat and tears... You might feel a little pinch!"

Or rather, a large shock, as he brings up one hand, with something like a... taser attached. The short will stun, long enough to get the little bot disconnected and in hand -- and with that, begin the operation.

Hours pass. Blowtorches, wires, and cables are all brought over, and all applied carefully, and in the little bot's brain, he works his magic to make sure the right drivers exist for the bot to USE them...

"Man," Megamind breathes sometime later, "I really wish Minion was here to help..."

But it doesn't matter. The fantastic fish is no where here, and in the end, Megamind is own his own. Thankfully, when it comes to actually building things, he's a pro.

Once he's done, he runs all the appropriate tests, and then carries the bot back to the bike, loads him up and rides back to the park. It's there that he reactivates the little guy.

"There! No pain at all." ... "Except for the first rude shock. Very sorry."

"Helping, I understand helping- but pain does seem a potential part of i- wait, a pinch? Just...what exactly is that supposed to-AAH!"

Not even given a second to properly process a reaction once the device was applied, his panicked cry was cut short, optic light flickering out, along with the hover unit. Shutting him down for the whole procedure was definitely for the best considering how flustered he was when he was operational.

As power runs back through his spherical frame, the shutters over his optic flutter open and closed in a very groggy display as that blue light gradually brightens.

".....ugh. Ow. What...what just happened..? Where? Oh no, did she-- -BIRD?!"

All at once the hover unit kicked in, bar grips splayed wide as Wheatley looked about in a panic. It only took a few seconds before he realized where he was, glowing blue fixating on the equally blue face of Megamind. "-ah. Sorry, I just..."

He gestured vaguely with his newly installed arms. "Wait, just how long was I out? Are we done th-" Oh hey, wait a second. "Oh. Oh....this is, this...."

Arms. He really had arms! Little skimpy ones but there they were! "-and they're attached and everything! I can wave at you! And, and, well, other things but the whole point being that they're moving because I want them to! So strange...yet oddly familiar...

"Oh, I didn't thank you though!" Megamind wouldn't mind if Wheatley tried to grasp his hand for a very hearty (well, as hearty as those arms will allow) and enthusiastic handshake. "Thank you so very much! Really, this is...amazing!"

Releasing the floating bot as he goes through his panic and activates the hover systems, Megamind watches him go through the realization that he's been given. Practically radiating smug, the formerly-evil genius just nods, until he's grabbed and given a noodley handshake.

"Yes, yes! Well, you can't go through life with no hands. I mean, that's just not tenable!" he replies, laughing. "All the things you couldn't do! I mean, now you'll have a lot more options for jobs! You'll be able to get things off high shelves for people! Very helpful."

Yes. Very. Megamind nods. Yes, these indirect acts of heroism - just helping people without any villains or bad guys involved - are quite good.

"Oh, good point! Can't wait to have a look, bet the employment agency will be surprised to see me turn up again with arms so soon! They said it would take me forever, oh, they even told me I probably wouldn't have any chances of it- can you believe that? Terrible- I thought they're supposed to help out and here they are being discouraging! Well! I can't wait to see their faces!"

He released Megamind's hand, raising an arm to give a salute- "Always wanted to do that-" before floating back a bit. "Well if there's anything I can do for you, um, feel free to ask, you know? I know you said you were doing this as a heroic deed however that works but I would like to return the favor, somehow, if possible. You know, show my appreciation, that sort of thing?"

"I've found that the system really doesn't exist for the common man..." he's been in part of it, after all, for years. Prison didn't really do anything for Megamind's perceptions of bureaucracy.

Grinning at the the little bot's enthusiasm, he seems satisfied with his work and it's results. But he laughs at the idea of recompense. "Naw, go on. You enjoy those arms, and - do good things, or something. It'll be good!"

Wheatley didn't need the encouragement, but he nodded eagerly at that. "Right! Definitely! I'll... I'll do- I'll make excellent use of these because not doing so would be a complete waste. Okay? All right. So. Here I go, on my way!"

He gave a happy little spin in the air, and waving at Megamind with both of his little hands before floating off and careening away like a pinball.

"Well! Back to the lair then!" To enjoy the satisfaction of a JOB WELL DONE! His first success-- if awkwardly achieved-- in heroism in the Nexus. Yes, he'll have to go home, turn on AC/DC very loudly, and rock out with his bad self while working on his other projects.

He heads back to his 'bike' to zip away.
