Wheeljack said it looked ridiculous, an' he wasn't joking... That's the first thing that pops into his head after he searched out the source of the noise, having spent yesterday and today both looking for that Megatron and being in and out of Ratchet's clinic. And now - finally - there'd be something to attack for this mess. It's not Megatron, but this thing needs stopped anyway.

"Th' slag is that thing---" Cliffjumper scowls and pulls out his cannon; at least the giant thing is big enough to hit and still easily avoid Grimlock clambering all over it. He's aware he should probably deploy his jetpack and use the glass gas, but... That's currently not enough.

So, maybe he won't be able to shoot at Megatron, but this is good enough.

Megatron is still gloating, trying to capture the attention of the Prime he's looking for and he might pick up Cliffjumper on his sensors, but ignores him. He's confident The Fortress can handle a lowly, errant Autobot and there's no reason for the Leader of the Decepticons to waste his time offlining Cliffjumper himself.

The Griffin is raging at Grimlock's climbing, stomping around furiously and letting out burst, after burst of cascading fire. It's everywhere in the vacinity at this point--on the nearby buildings, anything that had randomly been lying around by it's feet, all of it's starting to incinerate.

Some is undoubtedly, unknowingly spewed in Cliffjumper's direction.

It is starting to get a bit hot around here, but the minibot gets off another blast from the cannon before he actively has to run out of the way of the streams of fire heading in his direction. And by that time, the surrounding area is pretty well on fire.

Swearing, Cliffjumper turns on his jetpack and takes off from the ground, realizing the extent of the fire when he's in the air. They need something to turn out the fires, but there doesn't seem to be anything obvious around here... To combine looking for something that could mitigate the fires and attack the griffin at the same time, Cliffjumper flies closer and fires off a stream of glass gas before quickly veering off to avoid another burst of fire. Grimlock may get to that area before the gas wears off, if not, not much to do about it.

Megatron takes off into the air to fight with Prime, leaving his Griffin to fend for iteself; he made it hard to take down for a reason.

The Griffin itself is more concerned with Grimlock, than with Cliffjumper but the blast of glass gas hits just above it's shoulder, making it difficult for it move and it's twisting to dislodge Grimlock slows slightly now that it's hampered.

Swearing at the distance between where he'd manage to hit it and where Grimlock was, Cliffjumper was about to dive around and shoot himself when several laser blasts flew around and managed to graze him.

"What the slag--!" But when he twisted around in the air, there was nothing to see. At least his Wave Crusher hadn't been hit. With a grimace, the minibot aimed for the griffin's shoulder again, knowing he couldn't be too slow; sooner or later the gas would wear off.

It's not going to be easy to hit The Griffin's shoulder with the way he's twisting but Grimlock is the main focus of its attention. The mech is increasingly agitating the purple creature and is currently shaking itself to get rid of the intruder, its prehensile hair working towards grabbing him to throw him off.

It inadvertently staggers and twists--roaring in pain as the Tyran Prime hits one of it's back leg joints--just in time for Cliffjumper to hit the wrong shoulder.

...

"Slag!" Grimacing, Cliffjumper took the time to look around, and saw that Wheeljack was attempting to do something about the fires. Great, then he could leave that for now. Scowling, realizing that the heat would make him need to either keep close to the creature to use the glass gas, or he skipped that and landed and used the cannon...

Well, one more try didn't hurt, and Grimlock could perhaps need some help. Giving a boost to the jetpack, Cliffjumper weaved closer, knowing he had to be careful this time; the griffin's flailing could mean the gas would end up somewhere else than a spot above Grimlock to help him rip off the prehensile strands.

The Griffin has decided this course of action isn't working for it and he stomps around several more times before simply using his tentacles to throw Grimlock towards Cliffjumper.

It doesn't wait to see if this is successful and instead rounds on the Tyran Prime.

All that stomping (and not being a natural flyer) makes it extremely hard for the mini-bot to both stay in the air, stay out of the way, and hit anything. Thus, when Grimlock comes sailing, Cliffjumper barely have time to sharply angle away, barely missing the dinobot.

"Augh!" He also may have been sent into a spin and crashed straight into the griffin's tentacle-mane. "Aw, slag it---" Snarling, Cliffjumper just aims his gun as fast as he can; he's not getting stuck in this mess!

A high powered shot from Que sends the Griffin off balance and it wants nothing to do with Cliffjumper. Instead of grabbing him, it more swats at the mech with a tentacle, though he might not find the action particularly pleasant if it connects as the hair is beginning to solidify and turn to glass.

The Griffin knows nothing about about the The Tyran Prime's comm. All it knows is one engine has been damaged by the Prime, rendering it impossible to fly and that doesn't make it happy. Not at all.

Considering Cliffjumper's a little busy, the comm gets noticed, if briefly, but a huge tentacle slamming down on his head and back just as it's turned brittle is enough to make him put it aside.

It's probably lucky he was hit while it was brittle; as it was, while the weight was heavy and sent his processor reeling and the plating aching, Cliffjumper's not getting cracks and buckled plating. Instead a rain of broken metal shards fall down all around him and even as he's briefly sprialling out of control (tentacles to the helm isn't good for flight control), the mini-bot shoots randomly at the mane and the bits he'd managed to spray.

As it is, he manages to pull up just before he'd have hit the ground, processor still reeling and with a few visual defects. Nothing he can't handle, Cliffjumper decided as he aimed himself for the griffin again.

The tentacle that it hits Cliffjumper with shatters and rains down metal shards everywhere, several tentacles around it do the same as the red mech shoots them. The Griffin shakes his head, roaring with anger as Grimlock manages a good shot at one of its most sensitive areas--his optics.

It cracks but doesn't break, likely the Griffin can hardly see out of it, if at all and from now on out it's depth perception will probably be off. It's not programmed to adjust to the loss of an optic because Megatron never planned on it being so seriously damaged.

Still, it doesn't need much depth perception to shoot fire in a long arch between where Grimlock is standing and where Cliffjumper is flying.

It certainly doesn't, and Cliffjumper has to sharply angle upwards - it seemed smarter than going downwards, since Grimlock was that way, and the fire was aimed in that direction. His balance center's not exactly reset yet, though, so his aim is wobbly and while he goes up, he also goes into the griffin, slamming into it at the angle where the lower part of its beak meets the neck/mane. He's lucky he's at least somewhat protected from the flames spewing from the griffin's mouth from here.

"Well, I'm already here, ain't I..." With that, the red mini-bot scrambles along the tentacles, using his glass gas to spray at any filaments attempting to grab him and hope they at least crack it not break as he works himself upward, towards the head and optics.

It shakes its head much like a horse or dog would do to remove an annoyance which likely isn't hard enough to dislodge Cliffjumper; it just isn't built for the movement. The tentacles crack and some shatter as the red mech moves upwards, an action, like everything before it, that doesn't make the Griffin happy.

It's programmed to see anything on it, or climbing it, a threat and especially in such a critical area. Fire failing to reach Cliffjumper, its tentacles breaking, the Griffin doesn't have much in the way of options to deal with the menace. It twists more, limping on the foot that Grimlock injured and takes out another building in the process.

While the movement is indeed not enough to make Cliffjumper lose his grip, he still has to content with cracking some tentacles, and keeping enough whole to use as handholds; he could fly up, yes, but any space between him and the griffin at the point probably means he gets roasted.

"Slag!" When the griffin totters into a building, Cliffjumper winces; this is taking too long, and too much collateral damage is being inflicted. He hang on though, and continues to climb, finally ending up on top of the griffin's head. The problem now is just how he'll keep his balance enough, keep the tentacles off and get his cannon out to attempt to blow the griffin's head open.

"... I ain't supposed to have to plan," Cliffjumper complains, carefully laying down some glass gas while clutching on with one hand; he really doesn't have an idea of how to go from here.

Thanks to the Tyran Prime, there's no way the Griffin is getting off the ground again and that's lucky for Cliffjumper because it definitely would have tried to take off. It's numbered and outmatched on the ground, flight would have offered him an advantage that was now removed.

It shakes its head, unable to do anything else to get the annoying red mech off his head but try to grab the mini-bot with its tentacles and the glass gas is completely unavoidable. The Griffin is still dancing around--if it can't knock of Cliffjumper then it's going to try to get rid of Grimlock.
