Me Grimlock kick butt! king_grimlock August 8 2011, 08:49:37 UTC
It's hard not to notice THAT.

Grimlock knows that gravelly voice well that carries far and wide when Megatron is in full bellowing mode. The giant mecha-beast landing creates a thunderous reverberation and rousts him out of the bar he'd been drinking in.

Charging outward, energo-sword drawn and glowing, he's reminded of Sky Lynx for an astrosecond before he clicks himself into fight mode. Leaping upwards, he clutches the hind leg of the Griffin and starts an upward climb.

Finally! Something to smash!

The Griffin senses the weapon Grimlock is holding and perceives the climbing as it attack. It angrily lets out another burst of fire, unable to twist back and grab the mech. Instead it stomps around, uncaring what it steps on in its attempt to dislodge the offending pest.

Grimlock remains unnoticed by Megatron, who's attention is drawn with amusement towards the destruction he's causing and the approaching Prime.

That causes some serious foothold issues, as that first burst of stomping action nearly sends Grimlock flying off and crashing into something. It's only by the sheer strength of his grip on one hand that he's able to hang on, although his body is slung around to slam into the side of the giant leg before he can get his bearings.

Eventually, that sword is used as an anchor, stabbed into the leg in order to give him a climbing point, scrambling his way up until he manages to reach the hip area...

The Griffin roars its displeasure at being stabbed and twists around, trying to get hold of Grimlock even though it's an impossibility. More fire is sent sideways, hoping to catch the mech off-guard.

As he twists he runs into buildings, scaffolding, anything that's in his way--all in the attempt to remove the annoyance. His hip isn't the area Cliffjumper manages to turn into the glass, that's further up along his side, near his front leg and its leg goes stiff as it slowly reacts to the gas, slowing it's movements.

Grimlock sees that fire coming, and now that he's on a relatively flat surface, he transforms into his much more armored alt-mode to bear the brunt of the flame bath as if wafts towards him.

Once it's done, a quick shift into his robot mode once again to sprint up the thing's back, each footstep from his hyper-dense form thundering against the Griffin's hide.

Once he reaches the base of the throat, though, the dino-jaws are unleashed once again.

"ME GRIMLOCK WANT TO MUNCH METAL!"

The powerful teeth start to rip into the armored plating of the Griffin's neck. He's going right for the jugular.

This does not make the Griffin happy.

It doesn't perceive pain, but it's programmed so that any breach to its armor registers as Bad. It shakes its head, trying yet again to get rid of the pest that has latched himself to it's neck.

Then it makes use of its prehensile hair, the twisting ropes slide down towards Grimlock intent on grabbing him and forcibly pulling him away.

That, Grimlock wasn't expecting, and his body is unceremoniously hoisted from its perch - although it takes some doing to pry his clenched jaw loose from its deathgrip on the Griffin's neck.

Eventually, though, the equilibrium shifting gets the better of him, and the big Dinobot is dangling upside down.

This thing likes fire so much... me give it taste of own medicine!

His jaw opens wide again, and a burst of flame explodes from it, trying to burn away the tendrils clutching him.

This turn of events doesn't make the Griffin particularly happy. His enemies aren't supposed to use his own weapons against him and between Grimlock and Cliffjumper he can't keep hold of the mech.

Instead the tentacles jerk and he throws the Dinobot in Cliffjumper's direction, hoping to get rid of two birds with one stone as he rounds on the Tyran Prime.

This is where having tiny T-rex arms works against him, as they flail uselessly in their attempts to grab another tentacle before he's pitched in Cliffjumper's direction for a near-miss. As his heavy form plummets downward, he remains in his dinosaur mode, as it has the thicker hide to absorb the impact - enhanced by the rheanimum gas he was doused with before arriving here in Axiom. So when he hits, it's a thunderous impact, but he quickly rises from the dust in robot mode.

He stretches his neck servos to the right, and then the left.

Then, he charges once again, this time towards a front leg, pulling out the sword to try and cut the thing off at the ankles.

Where Grimlock lands barely registers to the Griffin, it's attention drawn to swatting away Cliffjumper and shooting fire at the Prime. It only notices the Dino again when he's charging and with one engine destroyed by a well-placed shot from the Tyran Prime it can't leave ground to get away.

Instead it tries to avoid the slash, keeping it's leg from being severed completely but it's still injured badly; a deep gash leaking fluid appearing on the side of his leg and it stumbles, finding it difficult to walk with some of the lines in the leg cut.

While the Tyran Prime is distracted by his open comm to the Autobots the Griffin swats at Grimlock with a paw and, having very few weapons, breathes more fire at the mech.

That distracting comm chatter allows the Griffin's swat to hit him - just like Prime to want to babble in middle of fight!, and the big Dinobot goes careening backwards, landing on his back. Getting a fresh sense of how massive this monster-thing really is.

Better move before it decides to step on him. He's not sure if even he's got the strength enough to lift this thing off of him.

So instead, the rocket launcher comes out while his body smolders from the fire, taking aim for the thing's eye and firing while he gets to his feet again.

Sorry I've been so fail! Busy week I didn't expect =\ supreme_leader August 20 2011, 07:09:27 UTC
While Grimlock picks himself up, the Griffin is busy with Cliffjumper and the mini-bot has successfully destroyed several tentacles on the one side. The metal pieces are dropping to the ground with loud resounding clangs... if you can hear it over the roar of the fires in the surrounding area.

The shot from the rocket launcher is a lucky one and hits exactly where Grimlock intended. The optic glass cracks under the explosion and renders the Griffin's optic almost completely useless. His depth perception is likely to be thrown off, making it difficult to swat at Grimlock again but he doesn't need to see well to shoot fire.

Since he doesn't care what he hits in the blast he roars and spits fire in a wide arch towards where Grimlock is standing, all the way to where Cliffjumper is flying.

No worries! I'm too often slow, too. king_grimlock August 22 2011, 23:48:55 UTC
The fire comes billowing over him, and Grimlock instinctively ducks down and charges through it, shielding his optics with his arm, and the the sword comes out once again.

Darting underneath the beast, once again, he's trying to climb up its leg, this time the same front leg he tried to cut off at the ankle. Hoping he can get up to that eyehole and pull out whatever the hell makes up the thing's brain and put a stop to it quickly.

The Griffin is prancing almost frantically, trying to get both the danger on its head and the annoyance climbing its leg to just leave it alone. The Tyran Prime has successfully rendered its flight capabilities useless, otherwise both Autobots would likely be in trouble.

Cliffjumper has taken the opportunity to turn part of its head into glass, but is having difficulties actually finishing the job as the Griffin keeps attempting to grab him with its tentacles. Grimlock doesn't go unnoticed the most the creature can do is attempt to shake him off, not easy nor particularly useful when he can barely use the leg the Dinobot is climbing.

His legs are out of range of it's fire, Megatron not wanting it to damage itself on accident and instead of helping it actually hampers the beast. Leaving Grimlock relatively free to climb.

Looking upwards as he scales the beast again, he sees that that little tough guy Cliffjumper's holding his own up there for the most part... so instead of trying to climb the rest of the way, Grimlock decides to bring that head down a little closer to him.

Digging one of the claws on his wrist hard into what would essentially be the thing's shoulder for stability, he flips the energo sword around in his hand and plunges it right into the joint as deeply as he can sink it. Back and forth, back and forth, hoping to saw the thing's front leg off, and bring him toppling down hard.

The Griffin roars, fire blasting out from its mouth even as it loses the use of one limb and with that one useless, he can't get out of the way nor dodge at all when the Tyran Prime lines up his own shot at a front leg.

Between the two blasts the creature goes down and goes down hard, though it's not offline, just immobile and still more than capable of its devastating fire blast. Still, now it's desperate, because it knows that it's losing and doesn't have much time left.
