Verity doesn't have a huge trip to Zone 5 from her digs. All that foresight, all those months ago, setting up little caches of supplies? Paid off, dude.

She could look better--she'd scraped a pair of Jackie O sunglasses from somewhere to mask the yellowing bruises from her face. She hoped the effect was classy and dashing and not too much Tina Turner Hiding from Ike.

She saw the Gatling and the smile on her face was almost searing. "Ohhhhh, Cap. You gotta tell me the story behind this baby."

"Verity. Hey there." Maxson glanced downrange a moment, then switched off the Gatling. "Good to see you... oh, this? It's a pretty common heavy weapon in use in the American armed forces back home. I'm normally more of a rifleman myself, but I wanted a little bit more of the comforts of home just in case, so I got Miss Heterodyne to help reconstruct one from what I've seen of them."

Verity gave the gun a third look. "Agatha? And from what you'd seen?" Uh yeah. From what she's seen of Heterodyne's handiwork? That means the gun could do any number of things. Which was SO FRAGGIN' COOL!!!!

She squatted down to check out the gun hoping to find little magic switches or something. "Hey, uh, Cap? How you plan on getting this around the whole TransTech Crackdown?"

There were switches here and there, none of them labeled save for a letter or two and a winking LED or other small light. Clearly, the user is expected to memorize what everything is for.

"Hmm? Oh-" Roger shrugged, easing the powerpack off to settle it down next to the firing section of the gun. "Simple enough. We're allowed to have weapons and tech from our own worlds and tech levels. The Gatling wasn't built in my world, but everything in it is designed using the same technologies and elements used in my world. It might as well have been built by Heckler and Koch. I still have to get permits for it, but they're almost entirely formalities."
