WHERE: Zone 8
WHEN: During Magnum's infection, probably now-ish ;3
WARNINGS/NOTES: Violence, robogore, and general creepiness.
Barricade had figured that everything had gone off without a hitch when Magnum was infected. So obviously, hilariously, infected. He liked the mech. He did. That didn't mean he could just let him get away scott-free with all of that. It was just so satisfying to make off with those vials and drop the remaining one. That didn't even touch the mess he made of Blackarachnia's files or the thrill of getting away scott-free. Well, he thought scott-free, anyway.
He hadn't really noticed anything until a couple days after Magnum more or less let the whole of the network know that he was infected. That was when he'd started itching. Not that he paid it any mind. At least until it actually started hurting on occasion. Barricade wasn't sure what to make of it; his diagnostics came up clean, beyond the usual wear and tear, so he left it. Not as though it affected his performance. Until yesterday, anyway, when it felt like something was trying to chew out of his armor. That wasn't normal. At all.
He'd driven down to Zone 8 after leaving Bonecrusher a rather vague message about running errands so the bigger mech could keep his processor on other things. Finding somewhere to run another diagnostic and fix whatever was wrong with his systems seemed like the proper thing to do - get in, get out, no one's the wiser, and he's still his usual perfect mess afterwards. Nevermind that when he finally found a mostly-abandoned building something that looked like a mechanical spider painfully chewed its way out of his elbow cabling. He plucked it off of his armor, peering at it for a moment in confusion, before putting the equation to rights.
Maybe this hadn't been such a brilliant plan, after all.
