Well it is possible he carried it by himself. I am still unsure about the capabilities and limitations of humans, sadly enough. Has he answered your communications yet? I'm curious as well as to why, and how, he did such a thing.

Can you triangulate his position using his communicator signal?

It would be rude of me to not show you the best of what I have, though admittedly, it isn't much at the moment.

If you know the frequency of his communicator, you can ping the signal off any communication towers or relays. Based on the strength of the return signal, you can extrapolate the three closest connection points to him and calculate his approximate location.
