[The camera flickers on, and suddenly Optimus. All up in your screen. The big bot is sitting on what might be a couch in his apartment, slouched over a little even though the fact that the space leaves him able to sit back comfortably without needing to hunch. He looks, as always, tired, his movements slow and muffled. He had seen better days once

The only Transtech we've had any real luck with is Cheetor but he's usually pretty busy. He's head of security and is buried in paperwork most of the time.
[Pause]
I don't think I caught your name.

I've met him. He seemed... concerned about keeping the offworld people out of trouble, but yes. He did seem under a bit of pressure. [He can sympathize. Intimately so.]
Orion. [Truth be told... he can see a similarity between you and a few of his own kind. He can't quite peg which of them you resemble more, if the similarities even hold a parallel in their worlds. With the voice, it's just the same.] I'm sure I've seen you now and again, but I didn't catch your name either.

[He nods at the name. Definitely sounds like it matches the other code-names for the Primes around here and then the blue and red paint job on top of it?]
Nice to meet you, I'm Jazz.

And they are the heads of the Transtech society, of course. [Though it sounds more like "So it's a dead end."]
[The name, though, does surprise him a little. He wouldn't have placed the coloring, but a few features of the armor... Maybe not.] It's nice to meet you, too. Would that it had been under better circumstances.

[And if Jazz never sees Transtech Megatron again it'll be too soon. The last thing he needs is someone getting in trouble again.
He nods amicably in response to the greeting.]
I think we'd all be partial to not meeting like this.

I know a Jazz from my universe, so I can only assume parallels, but I'd like not to assume too much. Tell me, how is it that I've been here for the months that I have and have not yet met you? I'm inclined to believe I already have and just haven't known it, and that would be the parallel.

[He frowns slightly.]
I've been laid up in the clinic for a good month. I had a run-in with a Con. Also been pretty busy helping some people out. If you've been hiding, it makes sense.
[He doesn't like that he missed it; a year here has him slipping.]

I'm not one in the habit of making myself known. Not usually. [The mech would understand why, surely.] I am sorry about your trouble, regardless. Had I been around to help, I may have. Neither am I one in the habit of staying out of danger, it seems, especially where friends or allies are involved. It is good to see you back on your feet.

Thanks, I appreciate the thought. Keep an eye out for a Malgian seeker designated Dirge, he likes to collect things and he's not above ambushing anyone to get it.
[Jazz raises a hand to tap at his shiny new and, finally, functional visor.]

I'll keep a look out for him. If he sees something of mine he'd like, I'll be sure to give him grief for it, from both of us.

[He tips his head forward in thanks.]
I don't think he'd be stupid enough to go after you but Cons aren't the smartest.
Is there anything I can pick up for you that you need?
Reply
Pardon? No, I'm fine. Thanks for offering, but I'll make do.

What about some company? It can't be too exciting sitting around by yourself.

[You can imagine how that went. Jazz doesn't know you were there to help with the Griffin.]
I wouldn't mind that.
[A Prime is a Prime but he'd like to see if he can figure out a difference between them.]

Just let me know when and where. I'd be glad to meet with you.
