[The feed clicks on to a face unfamiliar to most of Axiom Nexus. He's in a stark, industrial lab. Banks of ultra-speed processing computers surround him, blinking and humming. Behind him, a large logo on the wall reads 'Simultron: the Finest in Virtual Entertainment

What kind of memories do you believe you are missing?
Reply
...rather important ones. Ones that could be misused if in the wrong hands.

What do you keep plans for weapons of mass destruction in your memory files or something?
Reply
Actually, more like experiments whose data could be misapplied in the wrong hands. Very, very misapplied.
[They already had been, in the creation of Monstructor. Jetfire had been trying to undo that.]

That's why the best option is to just be a bad guy, then it doesn't matter what happens because you don't care.
[Well mostly anyway]
Reply
...
That's not quite how it works, Starscream. There are things out there that threaten even the existence of the 'bad guys'.
Surely you care about continuing to live?
Reply
Eh. Not quite so sure that'd matter in my case anymore.
[He still needed to figure out if what Magnum and Shockwave were implying was true or not.]
But anyway. We are talking about mass mass destruction then. Why didn't you just say so?
What kind of threat are we talking about here?
Reply
[He doesn't track everything; he's a game-company employee, not Soundwave.]
...I'd rather thought it was implied? [Has Jetfire ever interrupted over anything not End of the World-y?]
Judging by Bludgeon's current status in my reality? Anything from a mass eradication virus to...[he sighs] complete systems takeover. [He was the only one who had studied the Axis Cradle. Rebuilt it. And that data, gone as well.]

-- and when you go for mass destruction, you certainly go all out, don't you?
Well, I doubt anyone is going to step forward and state that they stole this information from you. I'm sure any big evil doer would have already gone on the network and 'Mwahahed' over it if some sort of mass destruction was planned any time soon.

I'd rather not. My last project was the reformatting of Gorlam Prime. And before that, trying to undo something...unspeakable.
.... ['Mwahahahed'?]
My concern is that they'd...omit that step, perhaps, and go straight to the attack. Or worse, bring it back to their homeworld. Where their scientists would have no defense.

[Besides outside of shooting himself, he still doesn't know how to reaslly test it]
Do you have any evidence of it being stolen for evil?
Reply
[Which Jetfire presumes is because he's distracted.]
[He gives a quiet laugh.] Do I have any evidence that stealing is ever for anything but evil?

I was told my genetic structure is different from most.
But it was by Shockwave and I would rather avoid all things from that one-eyed lunatic.
Anyway, back to your possible chances of the entire universe imploding because you lost something ... I would suggest you try to find a trail. If you can't find anything, think about who would have the ability to do that. You'd narrow down your suspects that way.
And if you can't ...
[Have a smirk.]
Just sit back and hope time and space doesn't collapse on itself.

Different. How? [Jetfire gives a frustrated sigh, his optics roving over the lab. This was not a proper science lab, but one designed for creating holographic simulations. Even if he could convince Starscream to come here...he didn't have the equipment.]
I can 'find a trail' in science. Not so much in crime. There's not a significant amount of overlap. But I wanted to verify--or the opposite--that this theft was unique.
You work in a laboratory, yes? Has any data gone missing from yours?
[He's just going to give you this face, Starscream. You fail at optimism. Forever.]
Reply
[Well, aside from what both Magnum and Shockwave brought up. And he's not going to Either of them to find out. Ever.]
Science isn't so different from crime trail following in this instance. It's the same kinds of testing an experimenting and hypothesis of ideas.
And no, not that I know of. But I don't keep anything in any place anyone else would have access to.
[Because he's paranoid. And he's the worst optimist ever.]
Reply
...Awesome? [He could think of many adjectives for Starscream, not all of them derogatory, even, but 'awesome'?]
Well, technically, no one should have access to my lab. But. [He shrugs.] Around here? Nothing is entirely secure.
